These are really wonderful! I hate to ask, but what does MAD mean?! :slink:

It's like AMV(animation ,music ,videos).
MAD means ・・・mad(like crazy).:hap57:
(originaly more like mad....)
Now It's some diffrent. You know what I mean?

I like unusual music so I liked "Legends" more than "Turandot" throughout the season. So I'm hoping he can work some magic with the tango as well even if it looks a little awkward now :) I have nothing but good feelings for his new SP though.

I didn't know that's what it meant! Crazy, crazy, crazy, so just add another unexpected quad here!

I loved "Legends" because of the footwork, and I pretty much started liking the music right away...As far as the Balada song -- the word "piantao" is Argentine slang for "a little bit crazy" and "loco" means crazy. I count those 2 words 22 times, which seems to be a bit much. I have a feeling this will grow on people though (probably me included) We'll see how it goes! When Shoma goes to the U.S. Int'l Classic in Sept., it will be a good test to see what the judges think of it. I know last year when they went, he only received a Level 2 (on spins? footwork? can't remember) on one of his programs, so they had a chance to revise things a little bit. And that's also the place where the 4,000 feet altitude really gets to the athletes, so it really is quite a test. I think they're all still working on their conditioning at that point.

Thank you - that was driving ME crazy (kind of like the abbreviation O.P.!) Lilico must be a huge Shoma fan. She has put together some beautiful things for him!

Ow my English:sad21:
But um・・・ It's a TCC and Quad Flip special. He said 『he was happy about "skating with smile" 』more than Quad Flip.
His still like playing games in his free time. but He wants to learn English(finally!!):yes2:
He thinks that it takes a long long time thogh.:agree:
Of course, he wants to improve his Jump skills more. sorry, my poor report.

I was so happy for him the weekend of Team Cup Challenge. He didn't stop smiling the whole weekend, I think! He earned it!...I wish him Good Luck with English! I started a Japanese class last week and had forgotten how difficult it is to learn another language. I have a Hiragana Headache today! I know his U.S. fans would really love it if he would learn just a little English. I was very happy to hear that Jason Brown is learning Japanese with a tutor.

I think this explains the meaning. The word seems to have acquired additional meaning in Japan

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAD_Movie

EDIT: English explanation lacks this point (from Japanese version, translated by me)

MADムービーの前身は、1970年代末ごろから大学のサークルなどで制作されていたMADテープ(初期はキチガイテープとも呼ばれていた)である。

The MAD movies originate from the MAD tapes (initially called Kichigai (meaning crazy or mad) tapes) made in Dojin circles of universities etc. since around the end of 70's.

From Lambiel's instagram - posted two hours ago. mmmmmmm is Lambiel choreographing something for Kana or Shoma or both? Or just giving them advices?

Shoma looks so relaxed and happy :)

Stephane is known for his wonderful spins. Could he possibly be working with them on skating skills type stuff. Dare I hope that they are bringing in some outside coaches -- gasp, maybe even a jump coach for Shoma kun?

I just LOVE that upper left photo where the members of Team Europe look like they are cheering and applauding wildly for Shoma. And he is super happy after doing his quad flip..

Took this of Shoma at Worlds off the Jumbo-tron screen while he was taking his bows for his short program. It was a really great skate except for the little problem on the 3-3. He opened with a beautiful quad! Hamaguri, note the pink cheeks and ears - not quite as pink as for the long program.

sorry! the rink didnt work for me. is it removed?
anyway, his sp was stunning and his face in a large screen must have been very cute. shy and a bit show off! i want to see his face like this new season many times!

your study of Japanese! oh, its wonderful and respectable. mastering another language is tough. personally, i must study Czech now. but slavic languadge is first for me to learn and difficult. your active attitude inspires me.

i want to recommend shoma speak more English.even if its not so fluent, the sincere attitude will touch ones heart!

I just removed the link about 2 minutes ago because I realized all my other Facebook stuff was probably accessible through that link. I was also surprised to see the photo I took on Shoma's Facebook page with 239 likes!!! Anyway, it's a really cute photo with pink cheeks.

It takes years to acquire fluency in a language and also dedication. But I really do enjoy it. It is a VERY humbling experience to learn a new language. I just LOVE my Japanese teacher. (I used to teach Spanish.) It would be fun if Shoma would learn a few words but probably his time is better spent working on his jumps right now! I think most Americans love it when people make an effort. It's really not important to speak perfectly.

I think Coach Higuchi is really terrific for the emotional / mental side of Shoma's skating. I love seeing them in the Kiss and Cry together. It seems like they really have a genuine affection for each other. I can still picture them together in the K & C after Shoma's Worlds performance where he was so devastated. She really seemed to be doing her best to comfort him!...His relationship with her reminds me a lot of Jason Brown's situation with his wonderful coach (Kori Ade). Kori has been coaching him since he was a little boy.

Kori must have been so happy at K&C at TCC FP to get huge score after a big injury!:) I didn’t know she and Jason have had such a long relationships. Shoma and Jason are lucky to be with a kind of pillar with metals. Yuzu once had such a coach but he must have left her for his dream. Brian and his team are truly good, but Brian does not understand yuzu as shown in an article where he says yuzu is mysterious and actually he fails to cope with yuzu sometimes. and further yuzu must do with foreign language and it's a burden. I feel sad current yuzu lacks coaches like Kora and Higuchi.

humbling experience. Ill keep it in mind with my studies of foreign languages.:)

About his jump coach, Team japan invite oveaseas coaches at summer training camps like Stephane. In my memory, Stephane's come these past years. Further, Ilia Kulik came two years ago and Mura said several times his instruction with jums lead to his stability with quad.
Kulik is a different type of jumper from Shoma. But his jumps are fine especially with 3A. He may give shoma any hint with jumps?

A coach who can help with the mental aspect is SO important. That makes sense to me that Brian might have trouble understanding Yuzu. I see so many similarities with Shoma and Jason. I love the artistic side of both of them. If you have time to watch, I know this is Shoma's thread, but this is the skate where I fell in love with Jason. It was the skate of a lifetime for him. We were a totally crazy audience. Don't know if you have seen it, but it is worth watching.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LEcdgUXvt6o. Jason also had a very hard time with the 3A, just like Shoma. I will be anxious to see Jason's quad and hope he doesn't injure himself again with that darn jump!!! Love that Jason has real costumes - just like Shoma.

Very happy to see that Stephane was with Kanako and Shoma. It can only mean good things! I have heard that Ilia is good with working with the jumps. Go Shoma!:yahoo: Good luck with your study of Czech. Is that for your job? Seems like that would be difficult.

According to Shoma official site, he is going to train in US. Seems like a short term camp or something. Could anyone check it out?

Hello, this is Shoma
I received your cheers, presents, flowers and letters at FaOI Sapporo.
Thank you.
After I got back to Nagoya, I worked hard on improving the choreography for a week so please see my improved program next time.
Also, I'll be going to the US until the beginning of July for training.
I'll be working on my jumps, skating, dance, ballet and train in a different way to how I usually do.
I'll be challenging myself with new things during this off season!
I hope to absorb many things and hope to grow by the next time I see you.
I'll be going now!

So he is going to the US for intense training :hap10:

Would love for him to work on quads with Anthony Liu. Hope he works hard but also gets to enjoy himself a little bit in the U.S.
