I read it because everybody was talking about it last week.
I don't have enough English ability to translate, but it was a scaring story.
Basically, Shirota-san talked about how Yuzu's left foot was swollen badly after the short program.
She said if she hadn't made him do the official practice after the short program, and if he had rested, Yuzu would have won.
She was very regretful for her decision of not stopping his practice.

This info actually made me angry as hell. Doesn't he have a medical team with him? Where were the doctors? What kind of primitive ways it is to make his foot ready for the competition? Any painkillers taken at the very least? I got only scaring message out of that. His team probably can't comprehent the fact that you can exacerbate the trauma this way easily and his figure skater spirit is not enough to deal with injury. I also can't comprehend how they just took his way of thinking just fine, believing his words and observing everything happening to him, everything he did by himself like that. And just let it be this way. That's not trust but ignorance and disinterest. His behavior and struggles are not samurai spirit and respected mental strength but a big problem to be fixed and a mix of bad mistakes from his team needed to be learnt from.
Javier has been injured too, couldn't practice because of that, but thanks to decent medical support he won the competition. Yuzu's injury is chronic and needs to be healed in a long period of time (and he got his rest) but did they even care before the WC? It was a first stage of tendon injury anyway.
Mrs Shirota is saying odd things too.
Sorry for the rant-like comment but all I've heard in a couple of months - serenades of journalists about Yuzuru's noble struggles and pain enduring experience, his team blaming his competition timetable and the ice condition and no real explanation how they should have dealt with his pain, how they should have healed him, what was learnt and what can change. I don't want any more noble suffering. I get it that injuries will always take place, but it's never the same tragedy for other skaters. They don't do absurd things because of lack of real help from their team and doctors. I may be very mistaken though.

He was taking painkillers back in January to do his shows, so it seems plausible he took painkillers in Boston too.
Him being off-ice as soon as possible after Boston indicates they knew rest - real rest - was the only way to really heal it. An option he obviously didn't have before WC (well, bar skipping the championship, I guess)
From the bits we know about Javi's issue, I think it was quite different: an inflammation that flared up. Painful but that once that went away didn't really troubled him much more (he did all his shows in april-may-june after all )

My two cents without having read the article (obviously ) nor any other Japanese interviews/articles

Just from memory, I read that he used painkillers but I can't remember from which article that was in.
About his spirit, Shirota thinks he was mentally a mess at one point, I think it was the time in between the SP and FS. He was understandably upset after the FS but Shirota said he didn’t cry at all.
Brian's name wasn't mentioned so I don't know.
The complaint about the rink size was that it was 4m shorter than what a figure skating competition rink should be, and about the ice condition, there were visible puddles on the surface on both sides of the rink so it made it hard for long arch jumpers to execute their jumps.

I've been reading multiple articles so I can't remember which info. came from which magazine but they are from the same writer, Naoko Utsunomiya. I read the July and August issues of SPUR and an article from a literature magazine that came out last week.

On the literature magazine, it said that Yuzuru's been spending his days off the ice by listening to endless music from classics, jazz, rock and hip hop because he'll have 2 new programs to choose music for next season.

I don't understand why, this set up is too tight. If he wins National again he has to go to this competition and skip 4CC again?? But this 4CC is important because it will happen in Olympic arena??

From what i know that is the asian winter games. And as far as i know they never send their top skaters there. But if Japan is the host they would probably want yuzuru to attend to fill seats. I bet both yuzuru and shoma would prefer to attend 4CC instead.

This article says that Ms. Kobayashi said the skaters' intentions will also be considered. Hopefully the top finishers at Nationals will be able to choose which competition they'd like to skate at. According to another article, they're sending 2 men and 2 ladies to Asian Winter Games.

- Proposed location will be in front of Tozai line International Center station, which will be near the place of origin for Figure Skating, Goshikinuma (五色沼)
