She was only 11th in Japanese Juniors last season and now she's coming out with this, my my. Too young to compete in Seniors until 2019, though, right?

How exciting! Not just 3A, but also a triple toeloop accompanied. Midori must be very proud of her legacy to the young generation.
The new blood from Japan can shake up the Russian dominance in ladies? I hope so.

It's not quite so pre-rotated as Miyahara's, plus she gets more height. Looked within 1/4 to me. Will be very interesting to see if Rika Kihara this season becomes like Mao in 2004/2005, suddenly dominating the Junior circuit with a 3Axel.

It looks quite close to me. She doesn't get that much height either. All of Mie Hamada's students have relatively small jumps; Miyahara's are the smallest for reasons that have already been mentioned.
Kihira's 3A success rate is 3/5 according to Ski Journal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Karen was not even on my radar. I was thinking maybe it was Naomi Nari Nam. I guess since I'm old that I sometimes forget the new skaters have such gorgeous line for being so young. Thanks again.

If last season were the pre-Olympic season, the three most likely candidates would have been Satoko, Marin and Wakaba.
Depends on how everyone will skate next season and in the first part of 2017-2018, those candidates can change. If Mao will start getting better results, she will be on the team even if she finishes off the podium at 2017 Nationals. It's pretty obvious to me that they want Marin on the team as well. The others (including Satoko) won't have that kind of luxury in case they struggle.
