Feel like I have to clarify this before it goes all ballistic
of the news. Some has provided their responses as below. I don't remember him exactly stating that he will have 4 quads..but after WC he said he will up his difficulty maybe 2 quads in second half...
Pretty sure it was not Yuzuru saying he will do 4 quads in his LP but all of us speculating he will do 4 quads just because he said in an interview post WC that he plan to put 2 quads in the 2nd half of his program.
I don't remember him explicitly saying 4 quads, but I don't think this is surprising either. I think we have to remember that last season's free skate layout was almost the same layout that he originally planned to challenge the post-Olympic season before the collision and surgery. 4 quads this season is likely where he intended to be all along, and maybe his original plan was to have the quad loop in his program last year as a solo jump as part of his 3 quad program before he attempted 4 quads, but his timeline got set back after the collision and surgery.
No you are right eppen , there were plans to put 4Lo as well as do 2 quads in the second half. I think the exact wording is "increase the difficulty of his jump" from Yuzuru's post WC interview. Brian is the one who said about the 4Lo and 2 quads in the 2nd half but Yuzuru himself never said explicitly that he will do 4 quads, so some of us in this thread just speculated that he would do so because it would not make sense to do 2 quads in the second half unless he aimed for 4 quads LP (I don't think 4 quad LP is speculated because he wants to do 4Lo). Back then I think in this thread there was like a few pages discussion about the pros and cons abut Yuzuru doing 4 quads. Pretty sure people in this thread are aware of the speculation.![]()

I think with the summer drought of no yuzu news, and these previous days a sudden burst of information, we are all just so ready for the new season to start AND TO SEE HIS PROGRAMS!!! So any information regarding his programs will be up for discussion, regardless of whether we were aware of it before or not![]()

But adding a new quad type would probably translate into 4 quads in the FS - because otherwise it would make no sense, right? I mean considering what he was up to last season and what he has been doing in his FS previously. At least that's what I thought when I read it. Replacing one of his 4T,4S or the existing quad combo(s) makes no real difference in BV, but replacing one of the other triples with a quad does mean quite a lot. That way he would be ahead of anyone else at least theoretically. Of course, the risks are greater also...
Btw, thanks for remembering the Italian earthquakes - am in Rome and went through the night with pretty strong and scary tremors, but can't imagine how horrible it must have been up in the mountains... Plus minor quakes seem to be continuing.

Many thanks Hamaguri , actually it seems more than 20 people have died because of the earthquake but many are still missing unfortunately.
Take care Eppen, Giulia and everyone in Italy. Yuzu been through the same experience before and he is an advocate for earthquake survivor and rebuilding.Feel like I have to clarify this before it goes all ballistic - I think there was an interview where he talked about adding the quad loop to his programs right after the worlds? I'm pretty sure I did not imagine this because I talked about it with my Japanese Yuzu-fan friend back then... I cannot present links, though.

I am just a little bit surprised that you Yuzu fans seem to be now somehow unaware of this speculation? I think we discussed it concerning Javi already late spring plus again later when the second TSL interview came out and he talked about his 4Lo (and did it in public just a couple of days after)...
Eppen (goes back home to Javi thread)
Good... I would kind of be VERY worried otherwise. But as I said the loop makes sense only with a 4 quad FS. Unless Yuzu specifically wants to replace one of his other quads with a new one which would seem unlikely considering the consistency he has with the old ones. And what Javi said - with uncertainty! - that Yuzy seems to be going with 4 quads which cannot be a surprise even as a plan. And at the same time he (kind of) revealed his own plan to be reactive and wait and see what comes (i.e. he will probably go with 3 quads in his FS).

)thus we just re-speculate everything again based on the newest info. I don't think Javi revealed anything that hasn't been expected by fans/ something Yuzuru has not hinted himself before though
Don't tempt me :roll9: the fridge isn't nearly far enough away

...as a fifth quad in his FS.:agree2:I will have a heart attack if he introduces 4Lz in the olympic year....

.
Kumamon was introduced in the John Oliver show.
I still can’t decide whether the mascot is cute or not for his odd looking, way cuter than the Melon bear though….

Video of Yuzu receiving certificates from Guinness Book of Records.
Below was posted by Sophie Moroi @YHIFG FB
Unless it’s already done, please find below quick translation of what Yuzuru said during the Guinness World Records Certificate award ceremony held today in Tokyo. Different TV programmes edit his comments in various manners, but I think the below is more or less chronological. The main video I relied on is attached (http://dai.ly/x4pqf3n), but I have also combined other sources of info and videos, too.
[I am sure there will be more to come, so please feel free to add / amend!]
----------------------------------------------
“I am very happy to be awarded Guinness certificates which represent official world recognition.”
“I believe that the Guinness records are something that needs to be kept renewed. I take this recognition as an “incentive for” my passion to renew the records. [What he meant was slightly unclear here, sorry.]”
“I would like to keep developing myself, and further challenging and renewing my own records.”
(As regards the Rio Olympics)
“The Team Japan won a total of 41 medals. I thought that we would have to follow suit. Each of the competitions was impressive to me. I was inspired that I would have to keep renewing my own records, and to bring back good medals and good records.”
(For Pyeongchang)
“The Olympics is our biggest goal. Usually, the winter Olympics is held in February. So, I would like to start within this season training to ensure my adjustment and my peaking in line with such timing of the event.”
(As for the new SP this season)
“I plan to perform the SP this season with a very high tempo and really cool type of music. Please look forward to it.”

A new fanvid using Yuzuru's best quotes: https://youtu.be/wjKRBCrTyXc
Music from Two Steps from Hell
Edit, list of his quotes:
1 - “Failure or not depends on perspectives of different people. Failure is not the opposite of success, but a part of it.”
2 - “I don’t give up easily. I don’t think about the result, instead, I move toward my ideal goal.”
3 - “I want to give the kind of performances that stay in people’s hearts.”
4 - "When people believes in me, I can believe in myself. That is when hope is turned into strength.”
5 - “This thing called ‘weakness’ is meant to make people become stronger.”
6 - “The feeling of getting stronger has become my driving force. This feeling has never stopped.”
7 - “I have always tried to find challenges after competitions and overcome them.”
8 - “In any case, I hate losing. When there is anything I can not do, I swear that I will become number one and then work hard on it in practice.”

But well, the SP and FS sound very promising, so I hope that EX will complete a great set for this season, just like the last one :yes:well I hope not in the same way the bear doesIn what way will Yuzuru join this?

...... it is a bear, right? It just looks like an XXL pokemon to me (not that I'm an expert on pokemon :roll9: )I too wonder if the show will have a cute Kumamon kids number and a separate Yuzu performance too. I'd love to see any of his programs. I think he might choose the program in accordance to the TV show mood and his plans of when and what he wants to disclose first.Do you think he will debut one of his competitive programs at that show with Kumamon and the kids? Or perhaps his EX? We don't know much about it either aside from the fact that it was choreographed by DW.![]()
