If she was trying for a sexy look, she got it. I worry about costume deductions, though, and even more, can you imagine how cold her tighs must feel?

Agree, StitchMonkey. Even loose shorts would so, if made in a soft and elastic material.

I think it goes past sexy into the slutty area. It doesn't bother me but remains to be seen how the judges will approach it. And why is he so formal looking? They don't seem to match, unless I'm missing something from the story of the music.

Let's not use those words, please.

I think that she is old enough to make that choice as a valid option. It is 2016... people can choose to look slutty if they want... it is just another meaningless look.

As for his costume... i agree there is a miss match between the two. If they were going for contrast... they needed to go move over the top with him.

Now that Orford and Hill are gone :sad21:, I'm not as interested in Ice Dance. But I looked at this vid and I totally agree.

No one has more feminist bona fides than me, and that's the word I would use. That outfit makes no sense. He is dressed, and she is not. If they didn't understand what the implication would be for judges who are all my age or older, they should soon. Or maybe that's the implication they want.

Then again, I find all the faux romance and pawing and kissy face in ID very unappealing and distracting from the programs. Now excuse me while I chase the kids off my lawn....;)

sorry if that offends you. Suffice it to say that costume goes way past sexy in the wrong direction.

LOL, based on this and other comments, I expected something to make me cringe when I clicked on the link.
(I generally consider myself to be a prude.)

But now that I have clicked, I am laughing  at how completely non-disturbing her costume is to me.
For me, much ado about nothing.

Her costume is no less modest than many skating dresses that are designed to have the look of tons of bare skin.
I think her costume is intended to be sexy in a more original way  than all those other dresses.

I can't agree with all of this, but the chasing the kids off your lawn comment did make me cackle. :)

I quickly checked the video that caused "outrage". I love her look, but his does not match. Why would he dress like a gentleman while his gf is in bed/just woke up??
He should wear a simple tee shirt at least, plus a pair of jeans maybe.

For what it's worth though Dima is lovely to watch. I can't believe they were left to work on this for the entire off season. Was this the only blues CD that Zhulin could get his hands on? Did Katya and Dima not do any research for themselves? Are they allowed to think for themselves? These test skates IMHO represent a necessary evil, the whole lot of them had better find themselves at a real senior B competition to get some real feedback.

You mean real one, right? Not like last season Saransk overscore-fest? I agree. Hopefully they'll go to Nebelhorn. The sooner they will establish themself as the Russian team #1 the better.

P.S. On the serious note, some people here forget that with the whole Meldonium mess (intentionally or unintentionally created by WADA) and Katia's wedding and honeymoon with Andrei Deputat they trained very little during the offseason. Look, she even considered to retire when she was temporarily suspended. She had no motivation and basically no intention to continue. But she still rocks it, they look ready for the season. And here some people say such things like 'the entire off season.' What a mess.

You people have absolutely no imagination . I know nothing about their music, but going by their costumes alone, I would say that a perfectly modern and respectable scenario would be:
The young newlyweds are crazy for each other. He has a formal dinner obligation connected to his high-powered job. After working late at her own high-powered job, she finally escapes the office and comes home to an empty house. She's lonely for her husband ... loves the smell of his shirts (it is not uncommon for women to feel this way) ... so she puts one on as she looks forward to welcoming him home. When he walks in the door, ... ;)

The Nebelhorn entry list is already up, and Bobrova/Soloviev are not on it. So probably Ondrej Nepela Trophy or Finlandia Trophy.

Ilinykh & Zhiganshin are going to Nebelhorn. (Essentially Igor's full crew. Plus G&P and maybe C&L--though I suspect they may have double booked in case they weren't ready for Lombardia).

Things are starting to look like they may get crowded at Nepela. The Shibs, Weaver & Poje, and Bobrova & Soloviev all unlisted for an event thus far. W&P not scheduled for either Autumn Classic or Finlandia. (I wonder if they are skipping the Challenger Series all together?). The Shibs and Bobrova & Soloviev both with an early GP start at Skate America so it seems unlikely they would wait for Finlandia. And it doesn't seem likely any of these teams would debut against V&M at home when it's unnecessary. I hope we will see all three teams compete early, nonetheless. Against each other or not, I think it's a great opportunity for feedback prior to the GP. (Also, no P&C or S&K signed up for anything yet).

I like the Blues portion, though there is so much feedback in the rink it is hard to tell if they are on time with the music in this particular performance. The Swing piece does feel disjointed. I know this is a tough rhythm combo to make feel connected, but I'd really like to see Zhulin hunt for something else for the second piece. I like the concept, and I have no problem with her costume. Maybe Soloviev's is still on order?
