No, it's Satoko. Marin hasn't talked about doing it in competition lately. You can go back to being totally at a loss.
The media talk about Marin practicing 3A and 4S for a while. There's a video of her doing 3A in harness (and it's not close to 3A at all). And of course she also said something like landing 4S at Olympic or so. I don't believe it even though she has a nice 3S.
Someone with better height in her jumps (Aka Miki Ando) only came close to it so I have doubt about Marin and 4S.

I doubt that Satoko or Marin are able to land 3A, Wakaba and Kaori are most likely. The flow and height Kaori gets on 2A is insane.

I don't think having a big 2A is essential. With Satoko's rotational speed she just needs more distance, not height. To get distance, she needs speed, which she will try to get by circling the ice with a long crossover.

Um... That's not true... it would defy basic physics.

If the rotation speed is fixed, the number of rotations a skater gets depends on the time the skater is in the air.

And the amount of time a skater is in the air, is dependant ONLY on the height of their jump.

Gravity always pulls you back to earth at the same vertical same rate, whether you are travelling fast or slow horizontally. So more horizontal speed or distance in itself doesn't help. It's more height that she needs...

However, more height might be achieved by increasing horizontal speed and converting the extra energy/momentum into a higher jump... and more distance could be a by-product of that. But the basic requirement remains more height, if you can't increase rotation speed...

Satoko is a very consistent jumper because she is so light and small and doesn't need much speed going into jumps, just like many junior girls. Most of Ms. Hamada's pupils jump that way. If Satoko tries to increase speed for 3A, she will her lose her consistency.

Wakaba and Kaori have much more speed and know how to control it, and they are more likely to master 3A than Satoko.

I've seen Wakaba's 3A attempts with and without a harness and she's nowhere near mastering it. She thinks she can do it but at the same time she said she doesn't like the axel.

Maybe I didn't express myself well. What I mean is that this is how Shoma Uno managed to land the 3A after years and years of falling on it. He was taught to use more distance and in doing so he ended up having distance and more height than he had before.

Oh? I thought that was because he shifted his focus from trying 3A's, to trying quads... he found quads easier than 3A, and once he could land them, he found he could land 3A's too...?

Yes, he tried and landed quads before the 3A but this is the advice he got for the 3A.

Wakaba has said in past interviews, that in her opinion 3A will become necessary for winning championships in the future.

So even if she doesn't like axel, I think she is serious about trying to master it...

So is Satoko. And really, nobody can guarantee which one will have a bigger success rate at this point.

Satoko's small jumps depend on pre-rotation and have no delay. I have no idea how she is capable of mastering 3A. At least Wakaba's or Kaori's jumps have some delay and longer time in the air.

I wonder who will represent Japan at worlds. Any scoop about Mao? I think Mao needs to figure out whether she really wants to stay in competitive skating. I think up an dcomers who seem to have somewhat arrive need to develop their personalities besides tricksl Sort of like the Russian. There is amazing depth as we can see with the juniors. Physically the Japanese ladies seem to do much better with puberty than the Russians.

She has already figured it out. She's staying until 2018. She will start her season at Finlandia Trophy. As for who will represent Japan at Worlds, the most likely trio is Satoko Miyahara - Wakaba Higuchi - Mao Asada, imo.
