Excuse for the poor translation, may be somebody can translate better.:slink:

Anin, this link doesn't work for me, it may not work for others. Your translation was fine but I couldn't tell much about what the injury involved. Can you determine if it was a dislocated shoulder, or is it merely a sprain? I am also unclear about the term "beaten out." Some inflamation accompanies every joint trauma.

I am grateful for your translation and I apologize if my request offended you. You are the only one who has provided insight, it really helped to read some facts. My Russian isn't so hot, in fact it's non-existent. You are way ahead of me. Please keep us informed.

Oww.... I'm less concerned about the shoulder but more about the back. Back (or spinal) injuries can last a lifetime and are so easily aggrevated for people of all ages even if you're not an athlete. Hope Yulia lets it heal properly before starting to go all out training-mode again.

Get well soon!! :sad46:

At least she seems in good spirits on ask.fm :)

Has Yulia ever heeded doctors' warnings? If it had been really serious she would have visited an emergency room. Did you see in her Ask where she said Already in the jumping went 👌 ? She also said she is in Moscow. She should do well if she observes therapy and doesn't turn it into a monster by "already in the jumping went." I think we can count on Alexei to rein her in. She is relatively lucky it's a shoulder.

I was hoping she'd get the momentum going at SA, but thankfully it doesn't seem too serious. Better now than before nationals IMO. Hope she rests easy and gets better soon!

And just when Kill Bill was taking shape. Does anyone know whether this effects her Olympic eligibility?

No....if she skates well enough next year she'll be eligible but as before she'll be up against the odds and the Russian Federation who has other favorites.

quote :
"Постараюсь объяснить, чтобы не домысливали. В Братиславе на тренировке перед произвольной Юля сильно упала, ударилась плечом и дёрнула спину. Откатала на таблеточках, а уже в Сочи обследовались. Оказалось, выбито плечо и началось воспаление, не знаю точно , чего. Связки, видимо. А спину защемило прямо в прокате. Я так понимаю, рассчитывали успеть восстановиться. Ну а грипп, да, тоже посетил. Беда одна не приходит. "

In the text there is no exact diagnosis: something with shoulder and back because of falling.

( Dont worry please, I used online-translater)

And http://http://www.championat.com/other/news-2609932-lipnickaja-ne-vystupit-na-gran-pri-ssha-iz-za-ushiba-pojasnichnoj-oblasti.html

Anin, thanks so much. Could you link this, maybe someone can translate it. It reads like a dislocated shoulder was popped back during practice, she skated on pain pills, and the shoulder was damaged while performing.

Well, the link doesn't work for me as well, one needs to be registered at fso to read it, but as far as I understood, your description is accurate. The shoulder was dislocated, and there was an inflammation. And later the flu as well.

(No idea how much true it is, mind you. FSO is known for spreading rumours...)

Yes, a dislocated shoulder, an inflammation began but they don't know exactly what is inflamed. They believe it is the ligaments. A pinched spinal nerve I think but this is the part I am not sure of. Oh and then the flu 'visited' her because as written there, misfortunes never come alone (ie when it rains, it pours).

You did just fine with the translation letting us all know about her shoulder difficulties... hope she heals well and stays strong tho she will be missed at SA. Her main concern seems to be for her fans when she made light of the injury at first.. takes a while to come back from dislocations.

Watch video of Kill Bill. She looked normal until the 4 minute mark. She even did the Ina Bauer nicely. If the FS had been 30 seconds shorter she would have made it. Her shoulder problem will be fairly routine if they don't have to operate. They must stop the loosening of the joint. Otherwise it will slip in and out more easily. Not even stubborn Yulia will be able to function when the joint is dislocated, the excruciating pain prevents any movement. She should have been examined thoroughly before attempting the FS. She has a very high tolerance for pain and this can work against her in this situation. It's a relief to know that her Olympic aspirations don't depend on skating now. She is in Moscow with specialists and mom, both are fully capable. Are any of us lip readers for the conversation between her and Alexei in the K&C? Watching her talk and Alexei react, it looks like classic Yulia. A couple of times an acerbic grin crossed her lips, it was almost as good as knowing what she said.

from her Ask, reply to most recent question: I do not want to just survive, so "eternal fight" 🙃

Brava, dear Yulia!

I read yesterday about her withdrawal. It's so sad what professional sport does to people, that as teenagers they already have "habitual," repeated injuries. But it's good that she is expected to recover by COR. I hope that she'll be able to go there in a good shape, and that her LP will be in a good shape there, despite the time-off now. Does she have a place to train in Moscow now, and will Urmanov come there ahead of time, or she'll have to fly to Sochi and back?

Brava, dear Yulia!

Apparently, it was a reply to someone posting a piece of Brodsky's war poem to comfort her. With a very rough translation:

Eternal fight.
We only rest while dreaming
May nothing disrupt our dreams.
The night is old
And birds, sleeping among the branches
Rock gently in blue silence

Eternal fight.
Attacks will come at dawn.
The bullets, no longer singing,
Will shout at us,
That Immortality awaits...
... But all we wanted was to just survive.

Yulia alludes to the last two words of the poem in her reply. "Just surviving" is apparently not for her, so "eternal fight" it is. The spirit!

I was doing the Prediction Game when I read that Yulia had to withdraw... I'm so sorry for her bad injury and I hope she's already recovering well and soon. Apparently her spirit is always great and that's really inspiring when you're not feeling good as well. I hope to see her very soon (but only if 100% healed!)
