I'm coming here to make a formal statement that I've officially sold myself to Prince short program after watching that fabulous practice again and again even while being a skeptical human being. And yes, this means I've acquired a higher biological tolerance to cringe which also means an approval of the infamous phone sign. I believe I'm reaching the ardous path of my figure skating enlightment. now if that costume is changed, which is very unlikely to happen, I would find the firefly at the end of the tunnel, otherwise until the present moment I'll survive through The Vest.

Sincerely yours, not-a-Prince-or-a-"fun"-programs fan.

I am a heavy metal fan. I run on cringe and self-mocking. The phone gesture was great :P

Hmmm... That looks like someone lifted my video off my dailymotion account and re-uploaded it on youtube :sarcasm:.

The language talk was very interesting, although I have noooo idea how to pronounce Russian letters
Thanks to Google translator as I can now at least understand the content by translating it into English. Before that, they were (and still are) just symbols to me. I suppose Japanese letters look the same to many of you, haha.

As for pronunciation, I heard before that Spanish is easier than English for Japanese people to pronounce, with a little exception.

By the way, this is an online dictionary I use. Look at the ranking on the right. "legacy" is still in the top 10 words looked up as of today. It was in first for a while after an announcement which we all know

Anyway, I think it is true Yuzuru sounds a bit younger (or can I say "more innocent tone"?) when he speaks foreign languages than he does Japanese.

This is a tweet by はる explaining about the StSq in Hope & Legacy. (This person became Yuzuru's fan after Sochi, and started studying about figure skating techniques. I'm sure she knows much more than I do already, although I've been watching figure skating some xxxx-ty years :p )

- モホーク Mohawk
- ブラケット Bracket
- チョクトー Choctaw
- ループ Loop
- ロッカー Rocker
- ツイズル Twizzle
- 時計回り Clock Wise - CW in red letters
- 反時計回り Counter Clock Wise - CCW in blue letters

The second video of the same tweet is explaining the difference between Mohawk and Choctaw. Difficult to tell the difference for me again.

Another tweet explaining the same StSq by abbyuzu.

- スリーターンズ Three turns

There is difference from the first one. I confess I don't have any ability to distinguish.

For your reference as well as my reference:

はる is studying about turns. Explanation of Three turn by Takahito, Bracket by Yuzuru, Rocker by Shoma and Counter by Javi. So cute

https://twitter.com/GOEplus5agetyau/status/755194553703931905

The bottom table explanation:

Edge before/after the turn: Same
Different

Body twisting when turning: Following the curve before the turn.
Against the curve before the turn.

I wish I had better eyes to distinguish them :scratch2:

Does this help?

Just look at the tops (those little spikes so to call them in the middle), and whether they turn out or not, and you'll see the difference.

I think I understand it theoretically, but it is so hard to see the edges, L or R, F or B while skating. Maybe I can see it with 25% slow motion, but still I'm not sure. I need to watch the movement more carefully :reye:

I haven't visited the forum for a very looooooooooong time due to hellish job. Now that the work goes smoother I come back and I see 2945 pages, what are you guys doing? How am I supposed to catch up?

Anyways, I and husband are going to Skate America this weekend and believe it or not I'm so happy that Yuzu is not there. My heart will be at ease. If possible, I'm saving my energy for seeing him live one more time at OG 2018.

This was translated from Russian. The diagram was drawn by Yulena. They will adjust the step sequence so it is not the final version yet.

はる revised the first turn from Choctaw to Mohawk. I'm still struggling only with this part :drama:

Long, long way to go.

Oh, I expected it would take us a shorter time to cover a hundred pages, really - 2845 was September 30th...
I just do wonder sometimes what's the scope of topics covered in this thread? Can anyone ever make a complete catalogue of these?
