Didn't know that Orser is anti-NTNS quads. Thought he would be more supportive.
I'm not sure if he meant "No 4Lo" or "No second 4S". Since he said right after the end of last season that Yuzu's next step would most likely be the 4Lo.

You guys clearly never heard someone really talk negatively about Yuzuru...
This thread has become such an angst-sadfest...
In fact, training 4lz might affect his his 3lz. Now that he has 4Lo in both of his programs, he will never plan 3lo in competition ever again.well that old news hadn't reached me. I had seen that video of him trying 4lz in a show practice and being already very close to landing it but I didn't know he was training it consistently in Toronto. Still I think that would make sense it is what improved his 3lz. 3lz must be so much easier after training the quad!
Yes I don't think that Brian compared negatively Yuzuru to Javi. Because Brian is smarter than that. Nobody would think that Javi is better compared to Yuzuru. I think that the position of Brian is very incomfortable between the two of his students. Brian is a competent coach, but not very diplomatic. I think that he admires Yuzuru like us, but mentally he is more like Javi. Javi sometimes looks like a copy of Brian. You know, Brian only won Olympic silvers.Well then you should give your heart a rest because Brian never negatively compared Yuzu to Javi
About the 4Lz i'm not so sure, I think considering how his feet are prone to injuries, I would think Yuzu will stick to edges jumps for the season.
And to be fair to Orser, Yuzuru is NOT that of an angel to work with. I love our boy but I know he is a little devil and crazily stubborn. I am not suprised that Yuzuru brings the most stress to Orser.Speaking of which, I think most people has this idea that athlete-coach relationship supposed to be heartfelt and pretty like rainbows and unicorns and butterflies all the time like in movies. It is not the case most of the time. I fought with my coach on a weekly basis (and getting more intense and often as competition grows closer). But at the end of the day, I respect and trust her, so I stick with her and we always kiss and make up after an argument. I think if Yuzuru still decide to stick with Orser, he must have see values in him and trust him so I won't "question" his choices.

Oh, honey. This has been a common recurrence on this thread everytime Brian says anything about Yuzuru on interviews and I have grown immune to people's reaction by now. Just learn to ignore it. I think it is alright if some people express distaste and disagreement of what he said as long as it is not becoming some type of slander/libel.

I am glad he is still doing 3lz as the final jump in LP. As skaters put their good jump in the end of their LP.

I mean even if 3Lo got higher BV than 3lz, he wouldn't repeat it now he has 4Lo in competition. You know zayak...Why do you say that? Because the four quads resulted in no jumping pass left for a low point triple such as 3Lo?

Yes, I know, he can. But it seems like his coach doesn't know. Otherwise why tell these things to Icenetwork (it will be copied and spread out everywhere, you know, in different languages)? But he actually han do it  He did it at AC practice and yesterday too ( with only one step from 4S)
I thought so, yeah but then I read this and was likeWell actually Yuzuru was clean in practice with 4 quad layout for sure. Because if he couldn't skate it clean in practice, no coach would allow him to bring it to competition.

I think Orser was being cautious, remember this is Yuzuru he is talking about. If he said something like: "Yuzu is in wonderful condition, he did clean run through and I was shocked etc etc..." Then Japanese media will ROAR!I thought so, yeah but then I read this and was like
"He attempts all these quads (in practice run-throughs). Does he do them successfully? No, because it's such a tall order," (c)

melmel, thanks for sharing gpf those memories. Of course, he has many pupil skaters and I'm sure he was and will be proud of them. but recent his interview attitude feels defensive when it comes to yuzu's plan and injury..at least to me. so sorry for disagreement. But I think Brian is also human and he hates to see critics for failure. And I don't think there is a serious problem between yuzu and him at all. just want believing mode more as other's coach.
It's very difficult matters, indeed. Nobody knows who's choice will be right. but I can't blame yuzu..for his choice. Just pray and hope for being no regretfulanyway need to move positive in this thread.
So I wouldn't have to read their non-sense.But of course nobody lands every single jump in either of programs at every runthrough this early into the season. Why blame Brian for stating the facts?Yes, I know, he can. But it seems like his coach doesn't know. Otherwise why tell these things to Icenetwork (it will be copied and spread out everywhere, you know, in different languages)?
