Is there still some Russian training pecking order at play here? Is Yulia, being in Sochi, now sort of at a disadvantage compared to the Moscow-based skaters?

I think Yulia is at a disadvantage because she WD'ed from her first GP event, so no chance of qualifying for GPF... unlike Anna and Elena.

Thought Julia should be ahead. Didn't think Elena was selling it like she usually does. She didn't seem as smooth as Julia and Anna. Will probably get better with time. I hope she works on her posture

Someone mentioned before that Layback wasn't compulsory in Short from this season. It is true right? Just wondering because those with lower level layback seem to hardly have brought in a replacement for the spin this season. Everyone with both the good and the bad seem to have stuck with layback spin. :think:

Yes Elena is bit 'rough round the edges' with carriage and flow but she's always had that bright, joyful charisma and star power that just draws you in.

Medvedeva's flu mask. It's just grotesque. Is her immunity system that bad? No a single other person wore a flu mask during this 7 hour cast.

And NO I dont beleive the fact that Med has a flu. If she did, she'd stay the tano' home.

Elena's jumps look MUCH worse than last year. I wonder how they'll hold up in the LP. Very, VERY muscled and not too fun to watch. Poor thing - but my god she's got grit. Respect.

PCS are generous in comparison to Anna and Yulia, who both have more poise and sophistication, as well as SS. But Elena always does well at this competition so good for her. The audience adores her.

Usually CSKA skaters has the advantage, but Julia is an Olympian and such a popular skater in Russia, at RN they gave her huge components.

I am really getting tired of Elena's inflated scores. Her landings are so tight and lack of artistry. She should be ranked under the Julia's program imo.

You would believe any of that crap from the Russian forums? Surely Evgenia is intelligent enough to know the cameras are on her and would not be mocking another skater (doubt she would do it even without cameras). People are so desperate to find any reason to bash that girl...aren't there better things to talk about?
