Yulia Lipnitskaya

This was Julia's best and most relaxed SP since long time. She really matured in her expression and artistry. I would like to just change her SP dress colour. The dress is ok, but why they choosed this kind of colour? She would look great in anything else then this chestnut brownish something strange thing.

I think it's cause Les Feuilles Mortes -> The Dead Leaves but I sort of agree...

I don't have a problem with the current color, but maybe a different shade of fabric like a smoky red (similar to her last Leningrad dress) or some sort of amber color would have been nice.

Lipnitskaia landed a triple toe-triple toe combination, a double axel and triple flip, with two spins also earning her Level 4 marks. The 2014 European champion, who performed to "Les Feuilles Mortes," earned a season-best total of 69.25 points to complete a dominating showcase by the Russian ladies.

"I performed quite cleanly and easily," Lipnitskaia said following her third-place finish. "But nevertheless, it wasn't without some glitches in the levels that were a bit lower than necessary, so there is something to work on."

I'm wondering if the color of the dress affected her complexion because she looked really pale in the SP.

I think she is naturally very pale porcelain doll type, and darker colours near her face will always make her looking pale.

Right that might be the reason . I have some self issue with brown colour I guess :-D. But still I would choose better some vine red colour, or something what french call "prune" purple.

I watched the ladies SP on german eurosport and the commentator said she looks too thin

Anyway, i hope she is having a good skate today :hap10:

I think I was right on my suspicion that they left the flip on the SP because it's where is going to stay when she returns to her usual 3lz-3t. Her layout for the free today is:
3lz-2t
3l
2a
3f-2t (I don't think she's going for this double toe in particular, unless they just plan to put it out there even if it cancels out the other 2t)
--
2a-3t-2t
3lz
3t

No salchow, which is a good thing, because these are all jumps she can perform better, according to her last competition. Either way, six triples this time, so maybe we'll have the chance to see her going well. If she performs everythiing clean, she might even reach something close to a 130 score, but just skating clean is more than enough. Go Yulia!

i wonder why she put three 2t in one program, in this case, her third 2t will be in vain

I think because this is her layout with the 3lz-3t - adding the salchow somewhere in the program, I guess. I don't know, it's in vain, but it's not like it'll put that much strain on her, or cause any kind of penalty. Maybe she's in the mood to jump, haha.

I think her body looks just fine, don't let some random commentator get you down!!

Stopping by to say..
First of all. MY GOODNESS.. She's soooo gorgeous. :luv17:

Second. YAY for Yulia!! :cheer: glad to see her happy and satisfied. I think she did it beautifully. Yes there is obviously still room to improve but she came out of injury so this is great already.
It's so heartwarming to watch besp coverage they're so full of positivity and sounded genuinely happy and appreciative of her.
I've followed her since Sochi and I'm glad she keeps on keeping on because the young lady she's grown into now, shines brightly it's wonderful to see how she has come so far. It doesn't matter to me if she's not on top, as long as she's happy and healthy and can skate/perform, it's more than enough. I think she's truly special. Hope she'll have a long, successful career.

Wishing her luck for the free! :2thumbs:
