Skaters on Team Japan

What an adorable face of shoma!

There's another one from last year's 4 Continents too where Shoma is on Keiji's lap. I think they were more entertaining than the skating, at that point! I don't have time to look for it now. Seems like there's always some strange mischief going on when they're together.

Short news clip about Tatsuya Tsuboi.

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x53theo_期待のスケーター-壷井選手_sport

He leaves home in Okazaki City at 4:30 a.m. to Nagoya for training taking one hour by car, 2 or 3 times a week. The mileage of his mother's car has reached 270,000 km in 7 years.

Reporter: It's so early.
Tatsuya: Yes, I'm still sleepy.
R: Have you ever thought you don't feel like (going)?
Tatsuya: Sometimes. But, as I'm doing what I want to do, I'm trying to do my best.

Tatsuya will be the youngest contestant in the Senior Nationals in December :cheer:

That takes some dedication there to wake up and leave at 4:30 A.M.! I am not a morning person AT ALL, so 4:30 is like a death sentence to me :dbana: I wonder what time he goes to bed...

Speaking of which, he has some nice jumps from the clip, but those hands when he is entering a jump are really weird... how does that even work? It's really cool!

Cute behind the scenes from the “Countdown to Nationals” clock that will be shown every hour on the Alta vision in Shinjuku (big screen near Shinjuku station) 12/19-25, 10:00-24:00.
This video is from Fuji TV’s LINE and features Satoko (+Marin), Shoma, Mura, Kanako, Mai, Romeo Shimada, Kaori, YunaS, Wakaba, Kazuki, Keiji, Marin, Yuzuru.

(Thanks to the uploader! I don't use LINE.)
Good luck to everyone this weekend! :cheer:

Fuji TV’s going to livestream the opening ceremony and SP draws from December 22, 18:30. Should be available on their website below.

Thank you Fuji TV, I love you sometimes.

I found last year’s on dailymotion. The referee has so much trouble pronouncing some of the names even though most of them are in Japanese, and skaters forgetting to receive their gifts from sponsors one after another :laugh2: I would totally be one of them if I were there though.

I miss Kozuka and Sota…

The ladies' version from tonight’s news. Mao seems to be doing better :)

According to Dai, the ice where Nats will take place is surfaced on top of a hollow space (not cement) so it’s easier to jump

Oh now that's interesting to hear, thank you. It'll be curious to see if it translates into practice and exciting if it does!
Wonderful to hear about Mao :hap10:

The YT of the draw does work with Hola else it's geoblocked.
