Hope I can find the press conferences for both the men and women. I don't know, Shoma and Yuzu may need a little Kuyashii time! I am anxious to watch all the programs again. I was so nervous when it was live that I had a hard time enjoying it. I was getting very worked up -- not quite as bad as at Worlds, but I was getting a little crazy.

They have the press conferences in the ISU Facebook video replay archive: (they have mistakenly labeled as the Ladies Press Conference?, both conferences appear to be combined in one video?)

I am in total agreement with Shoma when he said he doesn't want to get injured attempting a 4A...some reporter actually asked if all 3 were going to go for one! No more injuries, and put the focus back on artistry, please gentlemen!

Omg I am so happy Shoma did place on the podium! Second place would be better since he was already third last year, but I am so proud of him! :hap10:

.34 away from the silver. How about that?! Then I start thinking "If only...If only..." -- if only he had done his quad combo in the short! Darn - that would have been maybe another 10? points. :angry1: Oh well, so proud of him anyway -- his work ethic, his grit and spirit, and his ability to never give up. Pretty surprised he was able to hold it together for the FS. I was holding my breath the whole way.

ETA: Just watched his free skate again and realized this was MUCH better than I realized. I was so nervous I could hardly watch when it was live. The only thing he really missed was when he did the 3A after the violin screech, that should have been a combo (3A + 3T?). Other than that, everything was pretty decent -- unclear edge on Lutz. Well? His movements weren't quite as sharp overall, but other than that, it was a dang good skate!!!! And his final spin was just :jaw:

The only "if only" that still bugs me is Daisuke Takahashi's fall on the quad in Vancouver. He would've won Gold if he'd landed that.

Congratulations on his almost-silver, him and Nathan saved the day in this messy event! Hooray! And wasn't that one of the best 4Fs he's done yet? Not a shred of doubt that that one was fully rotated, ha! I haven't read one word of criticism this time. :dev2: Maybe it was indeed a good thing to go first, so he couldn't over-analyze what the others were doing.

This. And that he had to tack that bloody 3T onto the 4T, instead of onto the 3Lz in his SP at Worlds 2012. :curse: (even though I know why he did it)

OMG Shoma was AMAZING!!!! I was clapping at my computer!!! :hap93::hap93::hap93: I wasn't expecting him to be able to pull up but I'm so glad he could, with the (almost) skate of his life at that! So wonderful Shoma-kun!!! Wonder if he can carry this momentum over to Nats. Nats is going to be a veeeery interesting competition I think...

Many congrats to Shoma for another podium finish at GPF in Marseille! :hap85: Such a great comeback from SP. :yes2:

Our golden, precious son!!!

tbh, I wasn't nervous at all for Shoma during his free, but was rather nervous for you, MaiKatze. ;) Glad to know you feel better now. :)

I almost couldn't watch, I was so afraid, deedee! Every post was like, oh, he messed up his jumps in practice and oh, he left practice earlier and he never does that and, oh, the japanese newspapers report that he's injured. It was getting worse and worse, and what Shoma delivered was such a surprise, I couldn't believe it. Haha...so now it's Nationals. When are they this year?

He did a even better 4F at SA this year - light and easy.

It's not the Oly season yet! Relax. :) Otherwise, I keep worrying about you till Feb 2018. Let me save some energy for Shoma and Mao, please.

J-Nats is in the week of Christmas as usual. Schedule are (Japan time):
Fri, Dec 23 Men SP 17:25-21:15
Sat, Dec 24 Ladies SP 13:45-17:35 / Men Free 17:55-21:45
Sun, Dec 25 Ladies Free 16:05-19:40 / Announcement of teams for Jr Worlds, 4CC, Worlds

and this still gives me good laugh. I love the moment so much.

I still laugh so much at this. In the complete clip, the look on Javi's face is hilarious, like he's saying "WHAT the heck is so funny?!" And Yuzu laughs so hard that he bends over at the waist, so Shoma bows because he thinks Yuzu is bowing...Honestly, these two are like a comedy routine when they get together.

I wondered why he was breathing so heavily (almost like he was panting) when he was done. Glad you both survived! :) I could barely look.
