Lol! Maybe I should go back and watch her again because the impression I got from her last season was that she had a wonky axel. :confused2:
Her Axel is very good here: https://youtu.be/uQo-E963ArE?t=2m11s
Difficult entry and good height and flow. However she is not good at keeping her mentality for competition. And of course, maybe puberty makes it harder for her. Her body when she was 12 is very very different from the current body she has. It can't be helped.

Please, don't use Yuzu's thread to bash another skater. Specially someone who is a good friend of him and Yuzu cares about.

Just saying it how it is- in response to Giulia95. But of course, pointing out the obvious is "bashing" these days :coffee:

I agree. Yuzu obviously pays close attention to what's going on in the skating world and among skating fans. I would not be surprised about what he knows. But it's still terrible to think if his fans could do to another skater what his antis have done to him.

Anyways, I am soooo happy about Keiji getting silver and likely going to worlds (almost definite right?).

Why should only Yuzuru suffer? Same rights for everyone, I think it's fair :coffee:

Lol my memory is just :handw: .She's the one who had a mild case of Midori leg wrap. :noshake:

There is a difference in pointing out that he has less than ideal technique and saying things like "the future of Japanese men's skating is doomed if he is their only hope". Sorry but this is exactly what some more senior skaters' fans were saying about Yuzuru in his early days and look at where he is now. And knowing how Yuzuru was treated by some more senior skaters' fans in his earlier years, I actually sympathize with Shomaand feel sad looking at how some Yuzuru fans treated him now.

I know you dislike Shoma and Javier but please don't bring it here, there is enough thread in the edge where you can channel your dislike to them.

When Yuna Aoki was 12, I thought she might be able to do 3A someday. But now her body has changed a lot and she is still suffering. I don't know if she can make it. Just watched a video of her lately, I have noticed that her Lutz edge is better now than one year ago.

He usually has outside edge and then went to flat but now it seems it is finally inside now? It took him so many years to correct it, but he is a living proof that wrong edge issues could be fixed, so other skaters who lip or flutz should not give up.
I have to say, to fix the Lip is easier than fixing the Flutz. I have not seen a true Lutz from all Flutzers yet. :drama: None of them, seriously.

Anyway, most top skaters has this edge issues, so I am glad even though it is "understandable" and "common" he still worked hard to fix it.
Some top skaters just do not work on the edge for their Lip/Flutz at all. :scratch2: and yet they do not get call, especially when they're men. I have talked about this with the specialist who taught us last week. And she said: "Yes, it's kind of sexist but it is true. Most specialists just assume that men do not have edge and UR issues like ladies so they do not bother reviewing the men's jumps. And this is why you see most ladies do not get away with calls but most men get away."
That said, I am glad Yuzuru has worked on his Flip. It is much much better now compared to years ago. He might never do a quad Flip. And it does not worth it since his Quad Loop technically has the same BV as Quad Flip. But he still needs the Flip in his free skate to fullfill the layout. So less technical issue the better. His Flip is super consistent and very correct now. I am glad.

I noticed Javi get away with flutz but Yuzuru's flip was called every single time until 2014 i think? I guess when you have a reputation as a chronic flutzer and lipper, the tech will just flag you beforehand on that jump for review each time? Or when you are the top men/ladies they tend to be more lenient? Medvedeva flutz but is barely called too iirc. I am just glad that he fixed his lip, now he even got +2, +3 GOE on it! So proud

Yes, I am glad Yuzuru has fixed his Flip. Now it is such a beautiful and easy jump from him. But again, all the jumps he does look efortless lol.
Zhenia also has tried to fix her Lutz as well. She will never have a true lutz. But her lutz now is ! flat, not obvious wrong anymore. We did analyze her !Lutz in very slow motion last week too.

I respectfully disagree about Yuzu’s 4S . After two years of falls and struggles Yuzu finally fixed his 4S technique after 2014 COC accident , during one of the toughest moment of his careere , more precisely after 2014 NHK. He was badly injured and he was training in Japan, Yuzu came back directly from hell to win Barcelona GPF , that Phantom FS was more than amazing!

2012 SA 4S Fall
2012 NHK 4S -1,71
2012 GPF 4S doubled

I want Yuzuru's flip to be as clear as Kaetlyn's flutz  I love the girl but her lutz should always be called e.

Her team is very smart in a way that they put her lutz in the direction that is hard to get correct angle of her edge. ;) The best we can get from that angle is Flat. And we know specialists are easy on some top girls (like they did not call Satoko's obvious UR at GPF) so...

This is Yuzu’s flip score data during the 2011-2012 season, the last season he trained under Nanami.
The flip entrance hasn’t changed since then and …surprise… all positive GOE!

Flip GOE

2011 Nebelhorn Trophy +1,10
2011 COC + 1
2011 COR +0.80
2011 GPF +1
2012 World +1,20

His quad sal was already consistently good in practice before that. One reason why he put quad sal in competition designed falling on it for 2 seasons was because of high success rate in practice at Cricket Club.
I am fed up with the way you constantly dismiss any improvements Yuzuru has got ever since he has moved to Cricket Club. You understand nothing how much he has improved in all the details of his skating. There is a reason why he has constantly improved. Because he is smart and he has people who support him wholeheartedly at Cricket Club.
Now what's next? When he finally lands a 4lz, you will say "because he trains it in Japan?" Lol

Yuzu put the 4S in 2012 NDDP FS because he wanted to upgrade his layout as usual and he did it against his coach suggestion.

Lovely, how mad does one have to be to truly believe it's the magical stay in Japan which suddenly 'corrected' Yuzu's 4S in the autumn of 2014. :laugh2:
Never mind that Yuzu had his start of the season derailed by his accident so his two first events just can't be considered. Or never mind he was training with a detailed schedule emailed by Brian during those two weeks before the GPF. It's all Japan and its air.
Pathetic. Thank goodness 4Lo seems to be credited to CC at least.
