Impressive comments

About last 3S3T, when adding 3T, he heard Higuchi’s voice “Go!”?

He was trying 3S alone at that time. He had no confidence and didn’t have speed. But his eyes caught Higuchi sensei right before the jump and heard her voice in landing. He felt he should try, and actually he got it. He’s satisfied with that.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

At least we know we'll see him at Worlds (barring any unforeseen circumstances). It should be very exciting...Merry Christmas. You are a brave person to go to the grocery store! :)

Thank you! Merry Christmas! Everything actually worked out okay! People were acting like decent human beings for once.

I was thinking maybe that was why he was wearing his glasses in that last clip we saw of him. HIs eyes were probably too swollen to get his contact lenses in. Nothing wrong with emotions. Nobu can give him crying lessons maybe!

Exactly I was thinking the same. This video https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x56bbza here has clips of him arriving at the arena. Just skip to 03:28 and you can just see how swollen/dead his eyes look .

Arriba, I remember your question about the announcement of Worlds member. This is this year’s video. After Ladies free, the members (Olympics, worlds) are shown and skaters make a short comment. Shoma says he finished worlds with tears last year and he wants to finish Worlds with smile this year. Every year, this moment had so much drama.. Sometimes, the skater announced his retirement, like Nobu. Im already nervous to imagine the scene of next year.
(And then, they move to the TV station and appear.)

The announcement, short clip during the move, and TV talks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIXLOEnN7aY (24:00)

At Medalist on ice today, he seems to have tried 4loop and the second time he got with the both feet...:drama: After Nationals, he showed his definition about more kind of quads to saying he cannot compete with the current second quads. Dfinitely, Nathan at GPF is most beggest impact of Men's field. :drama:

I found the news clip of this part. Around 8:30-9:40. Back to the hotel after FS
“It was very very tough time for my mental. Yuzu kun gets much pressure every time and achieves those performances and I realize how it’s admirable…”

At the backstage, Mura and Keiji are watching over his FS “Shoma is almost to cry unusually!”.

Apparently he got matured mentally at this competition. He learned something new. The pressure he'd suffered from may have been partly caused by the unexpected absence suddenly though, he’s got the certain confidence for getting over it. Have enough rest, Shoma at US! I haven’t been to US, but my impression is the land is larger and sky is higher than Japan! Hope he can enjoy his time there!

Although these experiences might be painful at the time (and bring tears!), it's all part of the growing process. He's learning as he goes along. I think he may be like Nobu as far as the crying! :) That's alright though.

Always sorry to hear news about the 4Lo, my least favorite jump. Injuries are always part of the sport, no matter how good or bad your technique is. Luck and genetics have a lot to do with it too. Many Americans come to my mind -- Evan Lysacek and Tara Lipinski OGMs - hip replacement. Nathan - hip surgery. Michelle Kwan - labrum problems (hip injury) just like Evan. I think she dropped the Loop after she had the injury. And that's just for starters!...I do remember at one point Mura asking Shoma if he wanted to try the 4A with him "just for fun" (?). Sometimes I think they do it out of boredom! Thankfully Shoma said "No, I'm good!" All I could think of was, PLEASE don't mess up your 3A after trying to learn it for so long! :agree2:

:otopic: :hijacked: OT, but has anyone heard anything at all about Sota? I was trying to find some info and haven't seen anything.

Haha, I can’t hear it myself but this tweet (w/video) says that Mura asked Shoma if he’s able to put his arms around his coaches like Taichi, and Shoma shakes his head :noshake:

ETA: Shoma doing Yuzuru's movement at MOI.

:otopic:
Arriba, I don't think there's been any Sota news since it was announced that he's taking the season off. Wakaba posted a photo of him when she contacted him after the announced and she says he looked fine (so does she:laugh:) and that's the last time I've seen of him. I hope he's not losing motivation and getting ready for next season.

Medalist on Ice video clip of interviews and backstage fluff with Team Japan. In some of the segments there is a young girl commentating with Dai and she is adorable.
Unfortunately no videos of the show yet.

Darn - makes me crazy to not be able to understand a thing! :noshake: But all the medalists look really happy, especially Dad Keiji. Also don't think I've ever heard Higuchi sensei talk that much - I guess maybe she just laughs, no talking!. She and Yamada also look pretty happy. Thx for posting!

Lol, cute try, Shoma! ;) Yuzu would have been clapping for sure!

Yes, my friend at GPF told me he was resting and I really hope he's taking this seriously and not rushing things again, because he went back on the ice too soon... but I trust he's motivated and will want to fight for the JP team in 2018.
Beside, we need to see Shoma and Sota together again! It's one of the laws of the universe!!! (Ok I'm exaggerating but you guys know what I mean  )

EDIT: oh and the cute girl you guys mention with Dai is Miyu Honda, a famous child-actress, skater herself and little sister of Marin. ;)

This was my favourite part, Yamada reminds me of a very kind grandma, and I love her parent vibe with 'Mihoko'. And Shoma looked so relaxed, it seemed he wasn't as shy and he talked easily. Probably happy to be near Daisuke, haha. His voice is still kind of high.... :o: hehe...

And the Honda siblings are just totally adorable, haha. What a family.
