aaah, I expect something like that, but sometimes i become paranoid lol
I found the comparison between Yuzu's and Brian's single axel https://twitter.com/vertigo06/status/817195905237458945
I personally want to see him doing spiral again, or how about layback spin?
I think Yuzuru's upright spins are his weakest, which is normal, most ladies have better upright spins than men. His Biellmann surprisingly is better than many ladies (yes I look at you, Rika, Joshi..). As for the A spin... lol In my opinion, anything related to upright spins like layback, Y spins... I would say no. His sits and camel are great.

Because he can do biellmann so i think he probably can do layback spin beautifully lol. I recently watched his etude program over and over again. I like his spins there. Rotating fast and match to the music, and I love his mismatched gloves.

His Biellmann is just ok and better than some ladies but it's weaker than most top ladies. Of course I would rather watch his Biellmann than Rika and Josie. But overall he wouldn't do layback well I am sure about it.

I'm sure he can do layback but I don't think it will be pretty . I'm in the minority here, I am actually not so fond of Yuzuru's biellmann because it is not in a perfect teardrop shape like how ladies biellmann usually look like (but as Meoima said, his biellmann is better than some ladies). Besides, he visibly slowed down and can't maintain his speed when he did the biellmann (also I'm worried for his back :hopelessness:), thus his Co Sp with biellman usually does not get GOE as high as his other spin. However, I understand that he probably won't ever drop it because it is one of his trademark/specialty + men very rarely do it, making it unique.

Yes, doing biellmann is uniquely him and he is the only one who to do it among the top men (cmiiw). Eventhough it's not perfect, his biellmann always success drawing gasp from the crowds, i love it hahaha. Now he even smoothen the exit.

I am not a big fan of his Biellmann either. The position is ok, but the drop in speed is too obvious for me to really like it. I am so glad he does not try a y spin. Very few men, or women do those well.

A new interview? Great. The fans need to be fed!!!

A tuck Axel! If you've never seen one, like this (there's a delayed tuck too). I admit, that is my one, slight gripe with the Swan. The way the two are connected, way too many still think it's a popped jump being fixed later. With a tuck there, there'd be no doubt.

I admit I like his biellmann in the sense of look what I can do, it really is his trademark but I would love to see him do a spiral at least in the EX if nothing else.

I would like to see him do an illusion spin, and a spiral. A layback would be very interesting to see too but that's not a spin he would ever do. About biellmann: I like it because it is unique, and I hope he does it as long as he competes. But at times it could be a bit faster and better in position.

I love his delayed Axel in his ex! And I love people who thinks it's a popped Axel 'cause it helps me distinguish people who understands very little of jumping (especially those who like to pose like experts instead :P).
I mean... it takes a special brand of smartness to think you pop a jump by starting it on an open stance and closing it later :rofl2:

They're pretty much called the general public. They don't differentiate the jumps and they definitely don't understand what they're seeing, especially when there's a 'normal' jump following right after :confused2: I don't think there's anything wrong with just enjoying skating as they do, without getting into the details.

Well my mom always told me I was special, so.... thanks?

Sorry, not sorry. I've seen this too many times all over the forum. There's no need to get rude about this. I also didn't get it the first time, because I don't think I've seen anyone do this on purpose before. Not everybody has been around for decades or has seen every old skating video there is. And the following 3A didn't help because it actually does happen that he messes something up in a show and then throws in a 3A just for the heck of it. I'm kinda tired of people making fun of others because they are too dumb to understand the brilliance of this move at first sight.

Uhm I assume she doesn't mean general public/casual fans ( it is okay not to know) but those who call themselves figure skating experts or a very long time figure skting fans and actually write some analysis for beginners too, I read bunch of them being in panic that Yuzuru popped axel and even saying he seems very much injured as he keeps popping axels, generally she is about folks who are super popular fans in twitter and many people consider them as authority xD in fact they just have that image and several years of watching sport , not actually analyzing and studying.

Yep, exactly :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

Although, even as not expert, it should take just a minimun knowledge on physics to know that a popped jump = you stop rotation early by opening it. And that's not what happens there :P
But I agree it may not be easy to see it at normal speed when you watch for the first time/didn't expect it.

But as Marin wrote, in my post I was talking about the so-called (or self-called?) experts :P

For some reason I don't think flying sit spin as easy to the eye like death drop.
I would like to see Yuzuru do illusion spin if he can.

In his Boston short (and 2015 gpf sp I think), Yuzuru does an illusion spin entry into a spin sequence at around 2'. I remember thinking I wouldn't mind seeing more of that because it looked pretty neat with his extension and long legs. And it also looks secure

Edit : Misquoted some people, fixed it.

way too many still think

so I am talking about people who still, now, think that it is a popped jump, even after several gala performances. That is the general public because they don't follow the sport as we do, including those twitter people who by now know very well what he's doing, they don't watch every gala or attend it and they're still confused. Primarily it is due to the linking of the two jumps because they're used to 'fixes' coming right after.

And hell, if someone didn't recognize a delayed A right away, it's still not the end of the world. Have they even seen one before, as most of them are young? You can say it's funny but kind of not nice to basically call them idiots for it.

If my wording came off as if I was calling them (normal fan, people in the crowd, random observers) idiots, I say sorry, 'cause that wasn't my intention.

My dig was directed solely towards those who like to pose as super-experts on twitter/tumblr/their own blog. And for that I stand my stance: I love that delayed Axel even more, it brought up so well those among them who - after all - have very little knowledge about technical stuff. It saved me time into checking if other stuff they wrote is actually worth to read :)

Honestly I am okay and I would never dare to insult person for not recognizing delayed axel or any jump/spin , but then when you have someone who has whole tumblr blog of educating people in skating and voila he/she writes that Yuzu keeps popping axel so he must be terribly injured all his/her reputation is ruined in my eyes personally. As for casual fans idk If I am not mistaken in later version at GPF , he did bigger pause from delayed axel to 3A if I am not messing things he has changed.

but it really makes me genuinely surprised how can you assume it is a pop if you observe the free leg a bit , just a tiny bit.
