Now my bold statement is that HE WILL WIN 4CC! (Or at least he will win LP).
(Stunned at first, but recovered) Great! Let us cheer Yuzuru on then and send him good vibes in the free.

Aaaand... that first part is exactly what I meant. There was an issue with the 4S (LP exclusive) that is now worse or blown out of proportions (and affecting SP/practices) because of 'OMG, the combo of doom'. Of course he could take the 'easy' route and do the combo on the first 4S, I'd personally prefer that too. But what we want doesn't matter compared to what he wants, and if he wants that d*mn 2nd half combo than he should go for it. Even if he just wants it for the lolz. And the constant complains about that combo and what he should do and what would be so much smarter and so on are really starting to get old. Especially because you're doing exactly the same thing you think he's doing wrong - being stubbornly stuck on repeating the same thing (='he needs to chance it, combo of doooooom') instead of taking the easier route (and accepting he will likely go for it and might not land it)
Edit: because I just realized it... 'he messed up the H&L combo 4 or 5 times'? Yes, 4 times. But seriously, you would have expected him to nail it at Autumn Classic or SC? After his bad injury and late season start and the fact he always messes up at his first competitions? Come on, that is way off any reasonable expectations. The 2 instances I think 'make sense to complain' about at all are NHK & GPF - which is only twice. Within a what, 2 weeks time span? I'm still not getting where the drama about that combo came from prior to 4CC. Wanna count how many 4T3T he messed up before he landed it first? Quad combos are hard, okay?![]()

Okay I am kind of bipolar. After my acceptance that there is something about can not change. As a fan I just have to live with it. Now my bold statement is that HE WILL WIN 4CC! (Or at least he will win LP).
Cause he messed the SP so his LP will be somewhat okay. With his condition I truly believe he will do at least one program okay and this time it will be the LP. I just have this feeling. :roll9:

I had no expectations, for anything, during the AC. But since the AC he has evolved quite a bit. The combination itself is something he lands, so by now, months later, the rest is resolved, he seems to literally have no other issues (which is incredible on many levels really) and there's one single thing that's repeating, which is the 4S-3T combination.
We talked about patterns two days ago, that's a pattern. During AC there was no way to tell what was the season start and what is potentially a bigger problem but now there is and looking back there it is so that's why I counted it, it was just math. I am aware quad combos are difficult but there's also flexibility in approaching things and adjustments and I'd say talking about it is slightly different but YMMV.
And I don't know. I think this place should be for everyone. Even those who don't like the damn 4S-3T combination and want to complain about it, those who still think he'll mess up, and those comparing him to Kpop stars, and those talking about music, and purple pants of sin and how hot he is, and those who coo over him, and even those who fall into a dark pit of doom and gloom and think this is the end for his Olympics and then switch to he will win the 4CC in day. The conversation cycles and there's something for everyone. Many things 'get old' to those who aren't into that but ultimately it's all fans in one place who care about him and it comes from that![]()
).That sounds pretty, but then this is also a place for fans who call him "Yuri" or seriously know no boundaries regarding his privacy? If you're okay with that, fine, I'm not.
In a reasonable manner, you can say what you don't like and criticize and complain, but there's a time when it becomes not okay for me. This thread should at least sound like a fan fest and not contain more negativity towards Yuzu than the damn competition thread. Maybe I was the only person who had a good day yesterday and was still fine after his skate but then this thread seriously brought me down and made me sad. But that's what it was for me. If that's what this thread is for, it's very much not for me (I'm starting to wonder why I posted again).
Of course I'm not, and if I missed someone like that posting here, I apologize but it moves so fast, I may have not seen it. Of course there must be boundaries when it comes to his personal life and character, but to me it seemed (again if I missed it here, I'm sorry) that lately, for the most part, since a couple of extremes went poof, people here have been trucking along just fine within those boundaries; I was describing what we have here right now. It goes up and down, especially during competitions, but it goes.
I think it's good to have a conversation though? We can all self-police a little, to make room for 'everyone'. I'll tone down the combo talk if that's it, but IMO people should still come here and be sad/frustrated about stuff like yesterday (because the edge threads are often malicious in intent but I don't think here) and people can also be 'happy' about stuff like yesterday (as you said, perspectives differ), and so on. It will bump against each other sometimes but it still leaves a place for 'all' of us and we can all take a break of a day if it's really not our cup of tea.
I actually thought we have been self-policing pretty well lately, overall. But then maybe my threshold is too high so that was a wrong impression and I apologize.
But also as I said, it's not for me then, which is fine. It's no use to continuing this discussion.
once again I so underestimated our speed. Negative or not, nobody will post here if he/she does not care for Yuzu. All the statements, disagreements and arguments come with one fact that we love this skater so deeply but I do realize people choose different ways to express their concerns: someone might easily jump down to the darkest hole while the other could be more calmed and stay positive. Wording could have been better though. How can we not hug each other? We have shared so much joy and tear together
And I apologize for not being active enough as I am totally optimistic, like no doubt at all. No matter he skates well or not tomorrow, it won't change my mind in any ways. Yuzu as a skater has achieved much more than I wished; the only thing I can do is appreciating, as always.I'm sorry for being so blunt, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who was so put off yesterday that they really wanted to leave this thread. Seriously, I went to the competition thread to calm down from that. So how is that a place for everyone then? But also as I said, it's not for me then, which is fine. It's no use to continuing this discussion.

Well said!No matter he skates well or not tomorrow, it won't change my mind in any ways. Yuzu as a skater has achieved much more than I wished; the only thing I can do is appreciating, as always.

You should be blunt, I think most of us are adults here. There has to be a way to make everyone co-exist, nobody should feel like they have to leave this place permanently and days like yesterday are always going to be chancy.
Okay, I should give this up... I never meant to say that everything always has to be optimistic or positive, but there is a long, long distance between that and being uselessly, overly negative. Repetitively at that. And more than that, about some people acting as if Yuzu would owe it to them to skate clean/well/not make mistakes, which he does not. I do find that disrespectful against him as a person. There is a certain range in which it is reasonable, and then at some point, it's not.
