You know, re-watching that video, I remember exactly why Yuzuru fits my aesthetics sense so much. He has such lovely body lines, and those black pants on his long legs with that light blue sparkly shirt really speaks to my visual senses.

Although I love Chopin 2.0 even if golden side triangles were a mess I also have a soft spot for Chopin 1.0. Some people preferred the GPF or Nationals performances that season but Worlds 2015 was my favourite, and not because this was the only time he landed his goddam nemesis The Lutz Combo, also because this was my favourite version of Chopin 1.0 step sequence. Throughout the whole program, his loose costume makes him seem like a floating ribbon held by strings to the ice which are his blades. i feel poetic today lmao

Does anyone know what Fumie says about Yuzuru here? The title says something about "friendly" and there's a drawing of a beer at the screen, so let's just say I'm curious.

Also, does anyone know if there's a video of Mai Mihara's open mouth when Yuzuru had his FS yolo moments? I saw a picture of that but not the news piece of where this is from. Thanks!

I didn't rewatch the video, but basically she said he was the only one who's friendly to her, as opposed to the others who would tiptoe around her because she's so senior.
Also a bunch about how he's S in character, and she's M in character.... but ...

There was a lot of discussions in this thread about this S+M stuff that japanese skaters tend to describe themselves, not in the usual meaning, that it doesn't sound that strange to me anymore. lol

Actually there's no such thing as S-type /M-type characters. It's too straightforward and humans are too complicated. I also doubt top figure skaters can be very M-type. Besides, Yuzuru can be very do-M too

It's nothing serious - don't take it seriously. It's more a Japanese pop culture thing "ドS”　”ドM”
Nobu has an M shirt and Yuzu has an S shirt, gifted by fans.

But what does it mean?

Yuzu gives off more dominant vibes and Nobu's the yasashii senpai that weeps at things. Loosely speaking.
But also between the two of them, it's in character for Yuzu to.. um. 突っ込み (in japanese)/吐槽 (in chinese) at Nobu.
UM. Good-natured ribbing between friends, kind of?

As an example: There was this interview that Yuzu did with Shuzo-san and Nobu right after a competition, maybe GPF or NHK. Shuzo-san asked Nobu if he had any thoughts, as a former competitive skater. Nobu said Yuzu's performance was so spectacular, it's hard to find words. Yuzu just swiftly retorted "ooh but you have to because it's your job "

Or that time when Yuzu arrived in Japan after Barcelona 2015 and he did a live press conference thing for 30 minutes. One of the questions asked was his kanji of the year, he gave "成” and added that "it's not because of Nobunari!"
