See my previous post, I did!

LOL we posted that around the same time!! But you still haven't defended the cross, which imo is the worst part about it

But I can totally understand if some people like it. tastes and perception differ! am I contradicting myself? I just really hate that costume

how may post do you have to make to get an avatar???

25, but 100 for a custom one!

Right, sorry to budge into such an animated conversation - but I'm keeping a promise now. But this translation is quite short - the video is short and they keep silent most of it.

GPF 2015 FS Replay

- As for Yuzuru Hanyu, you can’t find enough adjectives to describe him.
- It’s like Swan Lake.
- Hanyu? Well, not like back in 1991, during the Russian coup d’etat. (Something only the Russians would remember perhaps – when there was an attempt of coup d’etat in August 1991 – and all you could watch on TV those days was Swan Lake. It created an ominous and ambiguous aura around Tchaikovsky’s ballet – and changed the attitude towards it).
- (then they speak about the Russian skaters missing the GPF)
- Now we watch this masterpiece of Hanyu’s – the masterpiece called Seimei, a well-known Japanese character, magician, visionary, who lived at the turn of the 1st and 2nd millennia. Seimei, a film soundtrack about the well-known Japanesse wise man. And this is the free program for which Yuzuru Hanyu received 216.07 two weeks ago at NHK Trophy. No one had gone beyond 200 before that, Patrick Chan’s record was 196, Hanyu surpassed that record by 20 points by getting 216, and now he’ll surpass his own result.
- The first quad.
- Such jumps get +3 GOE from all the judges. Every judge shows that this is the excellence in executing 4T.
- A 4T3T combination in the middle of the program.
- This is a kind of magic, it’s just a miracle, something mystical – a magic of Seimei the great and enigmatic wise man on the ice!
- I’ve just paid attention to one thing – never saw it during the completion skates – how much gloves matter, the shape of the gloves, they’re wedge-shaped, and they also emphasise the choreography – he unbends his fingers, one, two, and look how they add up to the whole effect.
- I’ve also seen that he stressed the musical accents with his fingers, furling his hand into a fist and clenching his fist according to the musical phrases, just when he needs to do it. And this adds up so much to the character of Seimei
- Without the components, just his hands bringing the character forth, it’s just as important – I mean, they don’t get tired…
- And that glare! The glare he skated with! The one he did his choreographic sequence at the end of the program – that’s just incredible. Yuzuru Hanyu, a 21 year old genius! He got 120 for technical side of the skate and 219,48 overall. Will he get 220 – he will, as he can improve some things, and I think he can! This is the result of the men’s completion.

Lol, even I couldn't defend the cross. /o\ It's a dark spot that ruins an otherwise great idea.

But if we are on the topic of different perceptions, I , for examole, don't particularly like the final Seimei costume. What ruins that one for me is the blue/green embroidery which looks messy and makes the costume look like window curtains. I like the cut of the sleeves but not the belt. Overall, I preferred the first version of the costume by a country mile and I'd onky change the way sleeves connected to the rest.

Similar with the Ballade costume: the first, palest and most eatheral version was my favorite and the 2015/16 one wasn't very flattering in my eyes.

But I love the Requiem and Swan costumes. The requiem was pretth much perfect, and the deep back neckline of the Swan one makes it look so unusual on a man.

I also don't like NDP costume.. It's the worst IMO. :noshake:
The best for me are seimei, h&l, etude, and RJ1. :luv17:

My thought exactly

But the pluckability is half the charm for me. Especially when he covers his face in embarrassment after the gala or when he brings his arms in at the end of the spin (instead of the bielmann). I think "squee! Baby princess swan" XD it only works for yuzu though.

Yayyy :D thanks prof as always.
Glove talk! Non-fans maybe see Yuzu as primarily a great jump technician, but for me, Yuzu's hands movements are often a big part of what I enjoy about his programs.

About the swan costume, at first I didn't like it too.
But then when he began to skate, I started to understand why they made it that way. His arms really looking like a pair pf wings, especially when he moves them up backwards while half-sitting (Sorry, I don't know the move's name). The Swan really emphasizes his grace, I couldn't be more thankful to Tatiana who have suggested the song to him.

The lettuce is weird in normal lights, but it fits the song. I think it was meant to be a seaweed (since the program is about tsunami) not a lettuce though lmao

In contrast, I don't like Hana ni Nare at all. It looks cheap to me. That color combination just doesn't work at all

I wanted to write that I wanted to pluck that adorable duck but then I thought it would sound weird

Thank you so much for this! I defiitely share their appreciation for his gloves!!

Also, this is so random but I was born in August 1991.... what does that mean...

Nothing apart from the fact we know your age now!
Gosh, I'm so old compared to you...

Your order is served, as you can see - hope you enjoy the dish!

I think that the swan costume is so unusual because it's much more feminine in its cut than any other costume. Never before have I seen such a deep neckline on the back. It's like Yuzuru is deliberately pumping up his androgynous style but it corresponds well with the delicate music. And, well, a swan. On the other hand the feathers down the middle on the front make him seem a bit... idk, wider? Anybody else would have looked just fat, lol. Only Yuzury, I swear.

ETA: Did you guys really post 50 pages in 3.5 days?

I wouldn't go as far as to suspect injuries but I think he just took it out because it's risky? It could cause him injuries in the long run and isn't even his best element nor is it advantageous BV-wise... Although I did start enjoying his biellmann more this season, his haircutter at the end looked really elegant! I will miss it if in fact he won't put it in again but it's for the best I guess

I will miss his Biellmann. Yes, there are man skaters who do it better, but it is one of his trademark elements. And I liked the improved ending at GPF. If he has to drop it to concentrate more on other things, so be it. He can do it still in an EX program.
Hana ni Nare is gorgeous, one of my favorite costumes of him.

So far my top 5:
1.Chopin (both version)
2. Seimei
3. Hana ni Nare
4. RJ 1
5. Etude
Hana ni Nare is one of the best for me, as well as Chopin and Seimei. And these are safe choices for Olys.
I guess he's being extra careful for the Olympics
But RJ2, wasn't it risky costume? I still don't know what to think about it. I like the details on it, but overall impression is ..strange?

But you are the wiser for it. Does that comfort you? :p

Hahahh I think we had figured that out during our discussion about if it's okay to... feel certain ways about yuzu. :) But let's not bring that up again.

Agree.. I also think it works only for yuzu. Even I don't think cute little shoma will looks good in that outfit.. As a man u need to be really gorgeous.. cute and pretty like yuzuru
