I also heard some who said they might press the button wrongly? It was like Kolyada who got +2 GOE (???!!!!!!!) on a fall (it was such a ruckus back then). But I would think that judge who gave him 0 GOE maybe was just inexperienced (I doubt there would be many circumstances where s/he judges internationally?). S/he probably think that because he did a makeshift layout then it does not deserve +3/+2 or something. But the majority of the judges gave him +3 so I eventually don't mind about it. I doubt slowmo replay matters much for the judges. They are not tech panel who determine correct edge and rotation; and things like entry/exit/steps/landings are not something needed to be seen in slowmo

I hope for bigger events they would really choose judges and technical panels who are experienced AND have the minimum conflict of interest. People can hate on Shin Amano all they want, but at least he is consistently stingy to everyone

If the touchscreen still look like this then I think it is possible to hit on the wrong button accidentally.

It is touchscreen haha. But this looks like it is from pre 2010 where they still have slst and Cist
Though I would assume they would be allowed to review the GOE given, because sometimes they review the jumps, and jumps that are initially called full could be UR (so that by right should receive -2 to -3 GOE?). But you know when a judge gave the entire GOE and PCS row that deviate so much from other judges, it is either s/he is highly biased against/for the skater or is just incompetent. :noshake:

P.S : I think the majority of the judges for worlds would be from big feds

From what I know, he is just incredibly strict lol. He is the kind who would call borderline 1/4 rotation short as UR, (while maybe others would be more lenient and call it full), so he angered many people I think particularly with Mao Asada (?), so... you know...

Only 9 will stay from that 13 after final draw, Let's hope USA's small "tails" will be out as well , fingers crossed:
BEL , ISR , AUS - OUT will be the best option for fair judging.

I think they are allowed to change the given GOE as well, at least what I read in rule no.353 (determination and publication of results), there were no restrictions on it.

The MEX lady must have been so mesmerized by Yuzu's 3A that she accidentally hit the wrong button. Or she winked at the wrong time I don't want to think about things like she was biased/incompetent...:noshake:

Gotta say I really think it is strange that members of the same country/federation are allowed to judge their own skaters. Even if there's no explicit bias or conscious bias there is always going to be implicit bias. And the more I read about how judges are basically members of federations with influence and a stake in how their own skaters do, it just horrifies me. :noshake:

Shin Amano is technical specialist , works for tech panel, not a judge, he is known as a beast but honestly he is very fair and I wish he judged as many competitions as possible. He is the fairest caller, one of the fewest nowadays , I 'd name Scott Davis as the second one. he is far from national or any kind of bias . We will see him this week, He is at JWC ladies panel
