only 9 post...I doubt I can make it to hundred by worlds. if I start posting nonsense, please don't kill me.

It makes you want to make them untidy, doesn't it?

EDIT:
Can someone read this? What does it say about Yuzuru?
I only understand someone is graduating from Waseda with highest score, but who?
Excuse my poor understanding of Japanese :sad4:

The article seems to be about contract (?) of ANA with an athlete, not about graduation? They only mentioned Hanyu because he is one of ANA-affiliated athlete? I only google trans it though

They said something like "Hanyu is preparing to do first step after gruaduation from Waseda."

Ah I see. It is an article about Daiya Seto contracting with ANA and they are both from Waseda Uni so I guess that is why Hanyu is also mentioned? Hanyu preparing to do first step of what by the way

ETA : After a second look, it seems they are talking about Seto there? Or not? He is also Hanyu's age right? Yuzuru has said in an interview that he didn't have the chance to take many classes, so I actually did not expect him to graduate soon? :scratch2:

it does say with high score  after graduating from waseda

Are they talking about Yuzuru there? Or daiya seto? They both are from Waseda and are born in the same year. (Japanese doesn't have subject so it confuses me sometime :hopelessness:)

They're both born in 1994, then I guess they both graduate?

I assume because the article is about Seto, it's him that is graduating. Yuzuru is only mentioned as part of the other ANA affiliated athletes, I think. At least, that's what Google Translate seemed to imply but I could be wrong.

Also Google Translate is translating Yuzuru's name as Yuri... Anime influence!!!!

It says " Seto and ANA are about to announce affiliation contract between them by the end of this month. Ai Fukuhara and Hanyu are other ANA affiliated athletes. So Seto's secured the top-notch support for his future after graduation from Waseda Univ."

ANA affiliation is considered to be prestigious!

I got really confused with this.. and why they put Yuzu pic then :confused2:

Ikr, the article is so confusing. That part about graduation doesn't have anything to refer Yuzu or Seto, so maybe Seto?
Yuzu should be graduating this year too though

Generate hit counts. He is like a celebrity in Japan, right?
Media is so sly that way sometimes :scratch2:

It's baffling (and somehow rude for Seto) that they chose a photo of Yuzu to illustrate an article that wasn't about him :scratch2:

Ah come to think of it , the article is about Seto so I guess it is talking about him mainly.

Thank you for the trans riminin! :agree: :thank:

I actually remember Seto well because he mentioned in an interview before about how he was really inspired by Yuzuru after his injury. He said seeing Yuzuru fight and recover after the injury at CoC inspire himself to get better from his own injury (he won a world championship in swimming then iirc)

Anyway I am sharing jun hwan's interview where he mentioned Yuzuru here

Q: You share practice ice in Toronto with Yuzuru Hanyu and Javier Fernandez. How is it to train with them?
JHC: We train together, but the session is busy. Everybody focuses on themselves. There are eight to ten or twelve skaters on the ice. Sometimes there are also pair skaters, Dylan (Moscovitch) and Liuba (Liubov Ilyushechkina), so we have to watch out. When Yuzu and Javi are jumping, we have to watch out. When we are jumping, we have to be careful not to kill each other. We have to be careful when training together. When I do my elements, the jumps, I might fall a lot of times, but when Yuzu and Javi are jumping, I’m watching them and I get the feeling for the jumps.

Q: What do you do outside skating?
JHC: When I’m not skating or studying, I like doing nothing, just lying down like that (hits a relaxed pose). I don’t really have a hobby. I’m friends with other skaters at the Cricket Club, Roman Sadovsky, Javi (Fernandez), Yuzu (Hanyu), but we spend time together only at the rink.

The ISU just released a new interview of Jun Hwan Cha.
(thanks Marin for the link btw :) )

He talks a bit about training with other top athletes, including Yuzu and Javi
