Recently GPF has had more weight than European and 4CC. He has won GPF 4 times in a row, no one has ever done rhat before. It's a big deal. It's just not the most important event in FS. That's all.

on another words, Yuzu is the one who take the GPF to the high level B)

and neither will I

but even the latest group on thursday will practice at 8.50 which is still considerably early for him

6.00 AM in Helsinki is midnight in Toronto, so perhaps he'll be fine if he takes a nap after the practice ?

GPF has always been high level. Look at the winners : Kulik, Urmanov, Yagudin, Plushy, Lambiel, Chan, Takahashi, Hanyu etc. All are mostly world/olympic champion. You can't even say the same about 4CC, or the later European Championships.

Maybe the strategy is to stay jetlagged XD

Honestly, when I see the early times of the practice, I'm more nervous than he is. :palmf:

yeahh, but the ISU not give anough point for GPF winner which actualy it sure effect the World standing.

it's not fair, when a couple years ago there were so weak field(well in men dicipline) both in European and 4CC, but the winner got bigger point than the GPF winner :(

Actually, world standing means very little in Figure skating, unless for things like GP placement for those who ranked lower. So I don't really mind about the points. You can rack up points by going to many ISU senior B championships anyway, while you can win worlds and skip GP series and be ranked lower than those who placed 10th at worlds. Though I know Yuzuru has been ranked 1st several times, it doesn't really reflect who is the best in the field, in my opinion.

Historically, most only care about who win worlds and euro (I don't even care about 4cc honestly), I used to never watch GPF/CS Final too in the early 2000s. The prestige will never equal worlds or even euros, so I get the reasoning for points.

Think of it like this, worlds are like grand slam in tennis while GPF is like the ATP/WTA final. ;)

Well, I didn't think of that! I wonder if he is the type to sleep late tho

I wonder if he still gets jetlagged? As far as I know a jetlag is different from simply not being able to adapt to the local day-night schedule I'd be jetlagged all the time if it were the case lol

ohh boy we're already worried about his practice schedule... worlds is going to be a wild ride :palmf:

yeahh, let's think like that
anyway Yuzu is so hamble, he's the Olympic Champion yet he never take a season off and still have desire to compete at the 'lesser competition' they say.. :jaw:

Also I think once you get points for WC, your points from Euro/4CC aren't counted. Or no wait, it's like whichever one is higher.
So once Javi got WC, his EC scores aren't counted towards the total.

He is, at NHK they were interviewing the athletes about what they do in their days off and he replied "play games until midnight, sleep until late afternoon... aaah, wonderful!" (I can say i have something in common with a top athlete!)

Whichever one racked up more points for you, that one counts. Case being Javi only had points from WC, and not EC counting towards his total in the end. Because WC points > EC points.

hhmm thats why Javi ranked #2 in World standing despite won the WC?
I read about this World Standing on YHIFC, but it seem I still didn't get it :p

I'm desperate how much money I would have to spend :drama:

I'm going to join the ticket battle this year as well, starting with Fantasy on Ice, oh well... :ohwell:

He ranked 2nd because he did not go to senior B competitions. Had he gone to several, he would have had more points than Yuzu and ranked first. Jason Brown was ranked pretty high at world standing because of this, despite having a so-so GP result and not going to worlds the previous year. Which is why I said world standing matters very little. ;)

He has like over 100 release of magazines, photobooks, calendars, books etc combined every season. I actually wonder how do those who legitimately collect these things going to keep them :eeking:

I'm going for Nihon Camera but skipping anan I think. I spent a ton on Figure Skate Magazine and Ice Jewels because they had the articles, so....
*weepy goodbye to pretty pictures*

btw gladiodusc, I noticed that you hadn't the french TV commentaries on Yuzu's programs at olympics on your google doc... I think they have been translated in the past, do you want me to do some archeology to find the translation (and perhaps complete it if needed ?)

wow guys, this threads moves so fast as if its on adrenaline or something :eeking: thanks everyone for your contributions, whether its translation, news, videos, pictures etc! :thank: and belated welcome to our newest members!!! :hap10:

and main reason of my post, with all the Shin Amano talk, i had a dream where Yuzuru had 0 TES because of tech calls :slink::laugh: i dont usually remember my dreams but i couldnt forget this one

He is, at NHK they were interviewing the athletes about what they do in their days off and he replied "play games until midnight, sleep until late afternoon... aaah, wonderful!" (I can say i have something in common with a top athlete!)

"until midnight" is still moderate in my books

also I remeber Orser saying that all Yuzu does is practice and study lol
