Junhwan Cha

hmm this fan fest is moving so slow..

I found this fanvid in YouTube, his ex with R&J music, the Ina bauer tho :jaw:
I always weak with Ina bauer, so I don't mind if Jun will come up with Romeo and Juliet program next season :p

 Thank you for the link. I agree with the comment that he does so well skating to Josh Groban singing in Italian.
He has such beautiful lines and he knows how to hold and finish his movements. Actually, and I have posted this before, his style reminds me of Tatsuki: so balletic and refined.

Cheering for him to win Junior Worlds. I know that will add to the insane pressure on him with the Olympics being in Korea, but it seems he can handle being the carrier of a nation's hopes and dreams like yes, Yuna. :)

the pressure is no joke in Korea, sometimes korean netizen are so harsh, like when the footbool team did poorly in World cup

and now some korean media already hype him up as the next top men figur skater, I mean it Ok but Jun is just a kid, and the fact make me feel so bad for him

I think when KSF sent him to TCCC was a sign of the great expectations on him. But he is fortunate to have Yuna trek that path before him, and I think she will help him cope. I am sure Brian and the TCCC staff will also help create a "safe space" as they did for Yuna then and now Yuzuru.

Speaking of football, I remember a Korean gyu su nim of mine in graduate school who is a great fan and yes, she passionately follows the national team and we all know how the team in a big match did the morning after in class. ;)

I feel like Junhwan don't really is affected by this pressure though, he has great mindset and you can see it reading his interviews. Good for him to train in Canada too.

Not that I hate it but Romeo and Juliet will always be for Yuzuru for me, he will always be the Romeo in the ice. Plus I think Baby Jun will want to build his own name. Another thing, I think R&J is overuse already,

Jun Hwan did great in the short program, congratulations to him.:hap10: I see a lot of improvement since GPF (and during the whole season) in his overall quality of skating and connection to the music as well. It seems that he's grown a lot since last year, so it is even better that it didn't affect him and his skating *knocks on wood*. He looked so young and baby-faced last year, and now he matured and looks really tall on the ice too!
He's always calm and composed on and off the ice, I think he handles the pressure very well so far *knocks on wood for the second time*.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow's FS! I am very excited about his two quad salchows and his 3A-Lo-3S combination too. Good luck Jun Hwan!

Congratulations for great SP Jun ! I loved how his axel and spins improved , he has much less preparation going into axel , no more aka "stalking" approach , that is so great to see, also his improved sit spins made my day
Good luck in Free tomorrow

just back from work and watched Jun short, OMG he got the season best

I missed the men short, but I can stream the free coz it will be night in my country, I hope Jun will skate well in FS

Great SP from Jun Hwan! Best performance in the SP for me, with loads of charm and pizzazz. He is really coming into his own as a performer. He has the chance to win it all as well as show his versatility with a very different program in the free. Wishing him all the best.

And I can't help but notice how thick and bouncy his hair is; he can be a shampoo commercial model. :o:

amazing performance from Jun Hwan!!!! the best of the season, if only he hit all the levels :slink: but sometimes we cant have it all  and the camera man obviously loved him , his face when he realised he was caught and the lady was dancing is so funny :laugh2:

as well as toothpaste commercial

He still had the highest TES though :luv17: He gave us so many memes tbh, thank you, cameraman

So happy that JunHwan had great SP. :luv17:
I really love both of his programs this season.
He was already known for his ability to perform lyrical, dramatic, classical programs, so there was no real worry about this LP from the beginning, but the SP was kind of a challenge for him I think. He did look a tad bit uncomfortable in the beginning with this season with this more fun, laid back, jazzy(?) piece, but now he totally sells it!! Awesome.:agree: I love how versatile and musical he is.
Best of luck for the LP tonight(or tomorrow morning should I say?) I'll try to wake up early to watch him live, but with the lack of sleep from last night I'm not sure if I'll make it...

I notice that too, but 4th highest in PCS make me abit facepalmed

Aliev is good skater but these day 1 quad in the free skate is not anough, and there is Zhou with the 4lz.

how about Jun BV for his new layout, is it that far behind from Zhou's? those two only 4 point apart after the short, and anything could happen in the free.

ohh the anxiety already got me :drama:

Jun's quad sal is much more consistent than Vincent's quads that he'll be attempting. Really crossing my fingers for a medal for BB JHC!

I acknowledge Aliev but others got higher PCS that Jun because they were skating seniors, honestly. I really don't expect Vincent to clean free imo. Aliev and Samarin are not really consistent skaters either.

Talking about Jun, I'm kinda worried about that 3A combo but I believe that if they decided to go with it, it's good. I'm confident about quads though Since his sal is thing of beauty :luv17: I hope he will clean and get best result he can :ghug:

Crossing fingers for Jun !

... it feels a bit unfair that he has to compete against skaters who are already in the senior field ? I mean, some of them are older than Nathan and the same age than Shoma...

Maybe not unfair since they're still age-egible but it's kinda annoying, especially comparing to ladies who are all 14/15 years old, I think Kaori is the oldest one from the big names and she's 16.
