I agree. When I saw the SBS stroking video of Yuzu and Javi, I was like "Holy crap I know Yuzu's skating is beautiful, but next to Javi you can tell he has an innate 'something special' about him...even when he's just doing backwards crossovers." No dig at Javi, of course, he has his own style, but Yuzu's grace and elegance combined with confidence and control is justAnd that can't be learned because it's so basic.
Agreed... The SBS stroking was an interesting choice of clip to me honestly. The use of the body (knees especially) and the flow Yuzuru achieves is amazing to watch. I could watch him do crossovers of this quality all day. Incidentally, my favorite moments to watch at open practice is often at the beginning when he's just stroking to warm up. He really flies then.
