The only ones that come to my mind are Patrick and Denis Ten, and I don't enjoy Patrick's skating much precisely becuse I find his "balletic" posture stiff and his movement too controlled, not free enough. With Nathan, although people love to point out his balletic background, not much of it shines through.

Nathan skates to balletic music in both SP and FS, but I don't consider him balletic at all. I even think that this kind of music and coreography doesn't suit his skating style. His Ex as much better.

If nothing out of the ordinary happens he will be the world champion- Yuzuru Hanyu. Because none of his big rivals, Chan and Fernandez, skated a clean short program. He had a clean skate.
2: Yes, this is going to result in a huge margin. Alot has to go wrong (for him not to win gold) and right now I don't see where he could have lost points. I would say, gold has been assigned and Fernandez and Chan will will fight it out over silver and bronze.
1: This was impressive to a high degree. This, dear viewers, you forget so fast because it happens so fast. These are moments of bliss in figure skating which we are witnessing here. You don't get handed this on a silver platter every day. This is one of a kind. And now pay attention...
2: Just like that he goes into an outside spread eagle. This is truly one of a kind.

Haha yes, they were. With all the "Ohlalalalalalas" you usually only find in american films with french characters . They're the (in)famous Montfort/Dumont/candeloro we were talking about in the posts above . I love their comment here, even though they were disapointed for Joubert and Amodio, they were fairplay until the end and loved every bit of Yuzu's (and Dai's) performance. (Joubert and Amodio finished 4th and 5th, so, yeah, in a sense Yuzu's "miracle skate" cost a lot to french skaters, when the competition was held in France. That also explains why they're so excited in this vid)

As for Nathalie Péchalat... she does say nice things about him though, such as it's obvious how much Yuzu loves skating, and it's infectious and makes his programs unique.
But I must admit that I was shocked by one of her comments, at least I think it was her, some years ago (about R&J 2 I think ? I'll have to check) - she said that she thought it was too bad that men were doing the same kind of stuff as ladies (ina bauer, bielman...), that she would rather that men and ladies kept their specific styles and elements - and about Jason Brown, that he wasn't manly enough...
One of the reasons I love figure skating is that for once you don't have to be your stereotypical macho man in order to win - and Yuzu's androgynous style makes him really unique, a bit alien,yes ((c) Max Ambesi), but totally fascinating. And I love that he's totally comfortable with that idea, about playing both Romeo and Juliet in R&J 2, about playing a manly Prince in LGC and an ethereal fairy-like character in H&L, and even saying that he could have been an onnagata if he had played in kabuki.

About the France TV 2012 World commentary, it had already been translated and I slightly edited the translation here.
I'll probably edit it once more at home, while listening to the video.

I was looking for this material explaining about Shinto, because Yuzuru's FS "Hope & Legacy" reminded me of the colors used in it. Shinto is said to be a religion, but Japanese may feel rather uncomfortable to call it a religion, as it is so deeply rooted in our life without knowing it. Thank you for the translation! Boston SP is my favourite Chopin version. I just try not to think about the final result when watching it. I remember how the audience went completely silent when the music started. Everytime I watch it I forget how to breath.
And commentators definitely jinxed him...

It really was beautiful. I usually don't watch this version because I can't see that thumbnail of his face in the LP, but I had to after you mentioned it because my (possibly unpopular) opinion is Chopin is his best SP ever.
