His stubbornness in keeping that blasted combo seems to have backfired on him. No chance in getting that world title now. He's blown that. He'll be luck if he can even get on the podium at this rate.

I wouldn't say there's no chance, especially after what happened last year. It'll be over when it's over, until then we'll just have to wait for the free and see.

I'm sad that Yuzuru lost but oh well, he can fight back in the free. I'm not too worried about making up points seeing as how Javi caught up last year. IF Yuzuru skates clean and breaks his WR then he should hopefully win. TBH the most upsetting thing out of the whole ordeal is Yuzu's disappointment :(

^This :(

He wasn't so sad and disappointed after SP at 4CC ... :sad21: I think he had great expectations for today.

Hi... Is that the wrong moment to join this thread?:slink: I'm not a new Yuzu fan but I never had courage to join this group. But I don't think I'll survive without any others Yuzu fans but my side. ...Can I follow Yuzu with you, guys?:hap85:

Hmmm, it's his right, his choice. He'd feel he's defeated by a combo - so he will fight it to the bitter end, I think.
I don't mind the title, the placement, anything - I'm not disappointed in him. I do hurt for his frustration, really.

It's never late to join :ghug:

Figure skating is a sport. You'll lose or win in the competition. Of course it'll be disappointing if u lose when you're capable of doing more.. Right now, I'm sure yuzu was about to cry, angry, and feel really "kuyashii". I asked myself, How many times he was in that situation? Is it the worst happened? No.. That wasn't the worst in his career, he has been facing the worst before.. And he didn't give up. That was what I like about him. He didn't give up.
I'm not sure about his FS, since ice is slippery ,anything can happen. One thing is sure, Hanyu would fight and do his best. Let's see if he's lucky or not.

Welcome, and post often! :)
Sorry for general dejection in the thread at the moment. I refuse to be disappointed in him no matter how the competition ends. He's still inspiring and still the star.

I wish he'd do the combo after the first 4s in the long, if it's a good landing. Then it's done. I still think it's the big set up around the end that gets him. He won't, he's stubborn that way, but that's what I'd do (as if that matters,).

I"m wondering, when it's show time in the summer, if he's going to be doing that 4s3t combo over, and over, and over and over....

Well, if he skates first that means I have to suffer through only five more skates until I know for sure what's going to happen.... that sounds healthy..... If I never post anywhere ever again, just assume that I died of alcohol poisoning

That said, I actually really enjoyed the program. He seemed reeeally into it. Perks of a seat really close to the ice: at one point he tried to fire up the crowd right in front of us (quite successfully ) and he had the single most cutest smirk in the history of smiling

To even get on the podium, he needs a clean free. I am sure he knows this. Brian knows this, Tracy knows this.

You know, as Max said the other day, this is who Yuzuru Hanyu is, take it or leave it. Do not think I'm preaching, I completely understand the frustration as we all know how good he is. One simple swap and none of this would have happened. But Yuzuru is anything but simple and that's how it is.

And remember, he's feeling the worst here. He wants to win, he wants to be the best. Past achievements aren't something he's happy with so he will be ten times as frustrated and disappointed and angry, with himself primarily. But he wants to do things his way and sometimes, you have to pay the price for that. Sooooo ... lets not stress. He will do enough of that for all of us.

He can skate a clean free. He can. He's done that before. Just believe in him. Then it's out of his hands but at the same time, I am sure he'll be satisfied with that. Fingers crossed, toes, braids, everything.
