Junhwan Cha

Wow, looking forward to seeing that. Though I kind of wish he didn't have to add so many quads yet. Guess he's doing it to place high in the Olympics, but he's so, so young.

I think if it was not for the Olympic season he would have stayed at least another year at juniors.

3Lo seems to be one of his stronger, lighter jumps, so I think he can pull off the 4Lo. What a season it's going to be...really excited for his music choice. Mi Mancherai was one of my favorite programs of the year for both juniors and seniors - the ina bauer at the end matching perfectly with the music into the 3Lo

I actually think it's great that he gets to skate at a hometown Olympics but without the pressure that Yu-Na Kim had at the Vancouver Olympics--that of being a contender, favorite. It was a memorable experience for Shizuka Arakawa to skate in the Nagano Olympics, even though she was at a very early point in her career (she was honestly very raw at the point, and more raw than Jun Hwan is right now).

He just needs to deliver a great performance, really. Of course he needs to increase the difficulty of his content as he goes into seniors, but what is the rush? He really needs beautiful programs and a great performance, and it will be a fantastic Olympic moment. Top 10 would be ideal (and still very difficult).

I'm sure the crowd would love it if he skated to Arirang. I don't suppose David Wilson could/would re-package Yu-Na's Homage to Korea and give it to him...

Didn't expect that

According to LG Electronics, Cha’s family shares a long-time relationship with the company. Cha’s family members have been working in the LG Electronics’ product distribution industry since 1973.

“With the signing of sponsorship,” LG Electronics said, “Cha’s family will continue its relationship with the company for three generations.”

With Jinseo not qualifying for FS, Korean men don't have spot on Olympics  We can probably expect Junhwan to skate on 2017 Nebelhorn Trophy to get one spot for Korea and it will be his first senior competition, I guess.

Is there a rule about the host getting a spot? Or did Jinseo have to qualify for the FS to get that?

"Host Spots, if necessary, will be determined after the Team Event qualifications are settled. Provided that there are remaining places from the 10 "Additional Athletes Quota" spots available for Team Event countries not fielding a full team, South Korea is eligible to a maximum of 1 host spot per discipline they do not qualify for through the 2017 World Championships or 2017 Nebelhorn Trophy."

He'll probably be able to skate well enough to qualify at nebelhorn, honestly. Will be a good place to start his senior season too.

Wow, that's devastating. How well will he have to place at Nebelhorn?

Just best six skaters without a spot in competition, so we don't have to be worried.

EDIT: But I'm worried about Jun's Grand Prix spots :/ Not sure what can we expect his overall World Standing is 55, season's WS is 27 and he has 23rd best total score this season right now.

Do you know if there's any way Korea could get a second spot through Nebelhorn if Dabin isn't in the Top 10?
