GUYS. IT'S A MIRACLE.
They're actually broadcasting the competition right now on TV! Perks of living in the border, I'm watching it right now, again on NBC.
I can't believe I'm watching it on TV, not from my computer.
Today is truly a magical day!

I watched it with my parents! They loved Yuzuru and had unreasonably high expectations afterwards. My mom especially, loved his costume and kept on telling me to tell Nathan to change his to something similar (because I dm Nathan sometimes..). She said Yuzuru was "princess-looking", but after watching him skate she called him a king.

Edit: I also made this one. I love his happy face but his face when he saw his score was priceless . So, in case anyone wants to use Happy!Yuzu, you're free to take it!

I'm so jealous... every time I watch figure skating my parents think I'm wasting my time and wasting my life and blah blah blah... I'm extremely grateful for places like this, we get nervous hyperventilate cry celebrate and go crazy together

LOL I converted both my parents to the Religion of Yuzu too
I spammed them with Yuzu's past performances all the way up to the latest 4CC yolo FS
and then spammed my mom with Notte Stellata
My mom doesn't even follow figure skating but she remembers him
She heard me screaming and asked me if Yuzu won haha
Dad used to watch but not so much now but still remembers "the Japanese kid who skates like art" and asked me how the podium was
I was very happy to tell him the good news haha

You have to make it (as in get a source image then crop it) and upload it.

You have to have 100 posts to have the choice of showing custom avatar show up in the setting- my profiles page . Then you upload a 100 x 100 pixel image!

I feel so happy and special that he mentioned his fans from all over the world. It's nice to break down the idea that you have to share a country with someone to love them.

i'm not japanese but yuzu is still my fave skater
i like many skaters but yuzu just has that something special that draws and holds my emotions
his skating touches the hearts of people which is why he's so popular among many skating fans in the world
i believe the b.esp guys said yuzu is like "david beckam, doubled" and the hysteria among the crowd is like a beatles concert lol

I'm new to this forum and to this fan fest thread, I should've posted earlier this week but didn't get the chance to until now.
I was so blown away by his H+L performance yesterday...it gave me chills. You could see the fire in his eyes and how he was so ready to lay it all out on the line. How I wish I could see him live :luv17:

On another note, I saw someone on twitter say that all the pooh gifts were being donated to a local hospital? Can anyone confirm if that's true?

LOL This reminds me that just 30 min ago my mother asked me "And your son, how did he do??", she probably somehow forgot that I was screaming in the morning. I thought it was amusing. Her favourite is Ice Dance. One day I choosed some programs for her and she said she could be watching them for hours, she loves P/C, V/M's softer programs, anything subtle/lyrical, maybe that's where I got my FS genes. Speaking about that, I might show her Notte Stellata one day. She also particularly likes Yuna and her dresses. I used to do some kind of rotation with Mao/Yuna/Sasha lockscreens and wallpapers and she used to pick my cellphone so see if there's a new one and comment on the photo.

My father is also more of a Pairs/Ice Dance enthusiast although he asks me to send any figure skating video and he enjoys all disciplines. They don't actively search for anything though, they just accept what I throw at them.

Why don't they prefer singles ? ! ? i'm hurt :curse:

Speaking of mothers, I was watching his free for like the 10th time today and my parents walked in on my inelegant blubbering...I showed it to my mom without even saying anything and she started crying right along with me. She's not particularly interested in figure skating but she's always happy to watch Yuzuru. Says he reminds her of my brother. Major squick from me when she says that ahahaha

They discovered that at GPF FP where he didn't perform well. At 4CC he did the free with an empty stomach and was able to do all four quads with a lighter body. He did so again at Worlds.

I hope they feed him afterwards! When did he get to eat!!??

An actual empty stomach or? Interesting. He did say he felt like he didn't have enough energy in the KnC, wonder if it was the also the cause. But they might give him some liquid protein shake or something though (or whatever aminovital stuff he is drinking), so maybe not like with real "empty" stomach.

Haha same! My parents enjoy pairs the most. Better than singles . Probably because they're Chinese, and they really like Sui/Han.

Yuzu's height has always been a mystery to us because his official profile has never been updated since he was 171cm tall. If his height is actually around 176cm, it would make sense (and wow he really grew)! Remember once on a Japanese talk show they pulled out the tape measure and fake-measured his height in comparison to the MC? That was quite funny because with that segment of the show, they teased all of Yuzu's fans who are curious about his real height.

You know, after re watching the FS so many time, I've come to really like watching the biellmann here. His spin was smooth, fast, well centered and I like how he doesn't drop his leg anymore . I wonder if he practiced it more after 4CC?

The beillmann spin has always been my favourite from Yuzuru because it's a rare element seen in senior men and all of his spins are so refined and beautiful, especially the beillmann. Can't wait to see more of his artistry in the gala!

Today after dinner my grandparents were watching their usual television and randomly changed to a sports channel, then a very brief news report featuring Yuzuru's WR FS performance and winning his 2nd World title showed up and I was super happy because they rarely show any figure skating in the news here in the California news. (or maybe I just don't tune into TV at all, lol)

Woah that is exactly like me. Before I go to dance competitions, I don't eat much, if I eat anything at all. It makes me feel so clunky, it just feels like it slows me down so much. I also don't eat big breakfasts before tests. If eat too much, digesting takes too much of my energy and I think slower :noshake:
