He has been practicing the 4Lz since 2014... what exactly makes you think he isn't by now practicing it out of steps anyway? I'd bet my apartment, dog and hair that he is

Isn't that 4lz attempt at the ice show with Plushy already out of steps? Lol I can't recall, my memory is a bit blur :laugh2:

Oh, might be. I haven't re-watched it in a while

I wouldn't be surprised if for next season, it's a 4Lz spread eagle sandwich for the SP. 4S had it's season, 4Lo had it's season, time for a new sandwich

Is that possible?

Me too. :p
His 3Lz entry for HnL is pretty, almost immediate, I wonder if it can be applied for 4Lz. If he goes back to Toronto in late April to get his choreo, there is a chance he might debut them on late May's ice show right? So we don't have too wait for so long like last season

Is that possible?

Sure. And even if not, I don't think Yuzu cares

I really, really hope he'll debut at least one of his programs in an Ice Show this summer! Not sure we'd see the final layout then, but let alone the music choice...

on the other hand the idea of yuzu training in canada for as much as possible Under Watchful Eyes would give me a good (false?) sense of security :slink::laugh:

Also Lys just posted https://vimeo.com/212111568 ESP ITA for LP subbed. We had the translations and the videos previously, but it's such a pleasure to watch with all of it synced! Japanese subs available too! Thanks to Nymphea and mii for japanese, Lys, Caro and their (voluntarily) unnamed friend for the english subs XD

He said Yuzuru's 4Lz is 60% success rate and I was like "Where? How? Receiptsssss?"
If it is 2 out of 3 to 3 out of 5 landed, it is actually not a bad success rate at all to start doing a jump, but lmao, from Yuzu's camp it is all crickets when it comes to 4 Lz :laugh2:

Does anyone know about the success rate in training of Kolyada's 4Lz? It'd be intersting to compare.

I am another one eagerly awaiting his 4lutz attempt. Boyang's 4L is absolutely stunning and I"m sure Yuzu's would be something like that, considering his tendency to really soar when he jumps. All of his jumps are more than just a quick rotation off the ice (or on it, lol)...they just fly when they are on and really flow on the landing. Take his 3As in the Helsinki free program... that second one into the 3s was absolutely huge. I actually don't think i've seen him do a better 3A than that one... it would not surprise me if he's tried the 4A because there seemed to be more height in his 3As last week.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the link to the esp ita  Always so great to listen to. Hadn't noticed before how moved Max seemed to be during the skate, such a great figure skating moment Hanyu produced :yes2:

Does anyone know what is being talked about here? https://vimeo.com/192273788 It is the ita esp guys and they seem to be mentioning Hanyu during Han Yan's skate? Just wanted to see if there is a translation buried somewhere here in the fan fest.

Also listening to Massimiliano I really hope he goes to PC18, and I really badly want him to interview Hanyu. So sure he would ask Yuzuru excellent questions (if he wasn't too awestruck :drama:). Crowdfunding idea perhaps?

The success rate of his 4Lz was about 50% three months ago. I don't know what's the situation now. I think he didn't talk about it and he didn't practice quads much in February (injury?)..

Guys remember when I asked few days ago if he had a nutritionist?

Seems like he is revealing his meal (?) here? Or not?

There is a video, looks like healthy food. If anybody kind enough to translate?

Looks like ajinomoto did regulate his meals, from google trans.

video + based on what i can see in the photo:

main points to the menu is (1) simmered foods/stews that are easy to digest (2) pork + soybeans to increase metabolism (3) cutting out fat

left hand column with the orange tabs are his lunches each day in helsinki, right hand column with blue tabs are dinners.

i'll edit the post and add translation of article. hold on.

----------------

The “victory menu” of Yuzuru Hanyu, who recaptured his title as world figure skating champion, is revealed. Hanyu received conditioning and nutrition support from Ajinomoto’s “Victory Project,” increasing both food intake and muscle mass. He was able to complete his difficult, 4-quad program as a result. Looking ahead to Pyeongchang Olympics, they also seek to sculpt the “Gold Body(:laugh2::rofl2: SORRY. LOL) where Hanyu will seek to defend his title, a feat never accomplished by anyone else in the past 66 years.

[flowery prose, skip]

“We want to create a body that is less susceptible to damage. If nutrients aren’t completely absorbed, the physical burden from training will directly hit his internal organs. And we think it’s necessary to cover that from the nutritional/ food-intake side"

Although Hanyu lost stamina in the final stage at Autumn Classic, the first competition of the season, with each competition he increased the level of completion. Hanyu, who had a small appetite, became more conscious of eating well in order to train well.

After 4CC, he skated (trained) a considerable amount. His body had become one that can handle the amount of training. Compared to before, his rear muscles have visibly buffed up (this is for you hydro). Calories consumed at WC have also been markedly increased from 4CC. Metabolism has improved, and a strong body that could sustain a high level program skated with high precision is created. (ad ad ad ^_^)

In October last year, he began to do “conditioning checks” that include tracking of body weight (reminds me of that recent interview where he said he only recently started to weigh himself, lol), fat free mass, body conditioning, and training duration (so I guess 14 hours/week on ISU is honestly just whatever?). At Skate Canada in the same month, he felt strained landing four quads and there was the impression that maintaining stamina for second half would be hard without enough muscles. He worked hard to increase his food intake at meals and supplements in order to try and gain more muscles.

[blah blah blah about the victory menu ^_^|| Mainly: (1) simmered foods/stews that are easy to digest (2) pork + soybeans to increase metabolism (3) cutting out fat. Trying to strike balance between weight increase and stamina]

Well... They are right in more than one way...

rear muscles rear muscles rear muscles rear muscles

Thanks gladi :luv17: Always appreciate it

*sending you virtual flowers* :thank:

Given all the talk of 4A I thought we should quote from the article about Yuzuru directly

Q: On challenging new jumps

A: I want to attempt various jumps when we enter the off season. The 4A? I want to do it but after all there is nothing more important than the start of the Olympic season. Just like not getting injured while raising the efficacy of training I want to strike a balance between attempting it and the risk involved and do it if I can.
http://nanoka12.tumblr.com/post/159231769611/quad-axeli-want-to-do-it-but-yuzuru-hanyu-at

It seems to me that he is pretty hopeful he will train it a little bit at least. I know people are worried about possible injuries but I want to think that he and Brian probably by now have some sort of deal in place regarding the risks and how often he can train it. Didn't someone quite awhile a go theorize that Brian sometimes gets out the harness and let's him "get it out of his system"? I'm pretty sure that's the case (especially given Brian's comments earlier this season) and that they are being careful.

Please release some footage of it though, there must be footage

^ That quote reads like "I would like to do it now, but I will be a good buy and wait and do it after the Olympics"

I'm sure Max would want that too! And then he would probably cry through half of it and make Yuzu go all embarrassed with his gushing! I want it

I was just talking with a friend today how it would be awesome if Yuzu could sit down with an interview by Max. Maybe get a Japanese translator so we can get full-on glorious machine gun talk because Max will ask ALL the right questions. embarrassed yuzu would be pretty cool too XD
