I found Yuzuru through YOI, but after the anime ended I completely peaced out of that particular fandom and came to join the FS one. I found out prefer the real thing.![]()

Yes, if this thread has slowed down that noticeably, I wonder how badly off other threads are!

Reading his comments here, it seems like he's indirectly talking about the GOEs at helsinki, how the direction seems to be quantity of quads, and he's thinking over his plans for next season because of that.
That plus his comments on he needs to train more to get those GOEs and PCS makes me so sad. Sometimes I think he can't retire fast enough :sad4: But trailblazers are never properly rewarded are they...
Well, he can do nothing else about it.
For comparisons sake: 2015/16 season, I counted from May 1st to April 30th - 1145 pages
2016/17 - 1780 pages with 3 weeks left to go
So, no slow-down, an increase actually

Oh lord, I've watched YOI too. It was slightly too gay for me, but I ended up searching how to differentiate between jumps on YT and he magically popped up in recommended videos. And then I fell in loveI found Yuzuru through YOI, but after the anime ended I completely peaced out of that particular fandom and came to join the FS one. I found out I prefer the real thing. And Yuzu (among others) was a big reason for me staying.![]()

Sorry, kind of affected by Mao too...

And we still have WTT! :hap93:
I remember when Nathan Chen landed 5 quads at US Nationals we produced more then 15 pages in this thread just because of that and that weren't even Yuzuru related news.
He said that from the result of 4CC, whoever land the most jumps win. But after worlds, he feels there is something more, which he will think about it and find out his best weapon for the next season.
Which I think (as a non-technician, don't quote me on that) is what he needs, that will keep him from hitting his peak too early in the season as wellMy personal belief is that if he goes for four quads with the 4Lz, and develops the quality of his program to the max he can do, he'll be in a position where he can be competitive with even a 6-quad FS. No one yet has gone past his 219 score with the two simplest quads, which says a lot. A 4-different quad program would also give him the freedom to throw in a repeat quad at some point without sacrificing his 3A combos. The problem, of course, being how clean he can be if he adds a new element and keeps his usual high program difficulty. 4Lz will give him a lot of program freedom, but will also bring down his consistency for a while.

I think the influx of Yuzu fans can be categorized as follows:
-The post R&J1 fans era
-The post Sochi fans era I belong here:hap85:
-The post YOI fans era
And our family is getting bigger and bigger :hap85:![]()
but I was a lurker for a long time
Agreed. I don't think 5-quad program is necessary for him (for now), especially since he stated he did not have enough energy (again, for now) to execute them.
But this 4-quad layout : 4Lz 4Lo 3F /// 4S3T 4T 3A3T 3Alo3S 3Lz has a BV of 109.73
This 5-quad layout : 4Lz 4Lo 3F /// 4S3T 4T 4S 3A2T 3Alo3S has a BV of 111.38
It is less than 2 points difference with much higher risk; while adding only the 4Lz did not really alter his layout so much compared to his current layout (except for doing 4Lz as a new jump ofc)
As a comparison, his current BV is 103.43 while Nathan's 6-quad layout at WC is 112.87. Adding a 4Lz would really help him, even with a 4-quad layout. But since it is the olympic season, he probably really want to make sure that his layout is the one he is most comfortable with too.
Yes, it seems that his reputation suffers more and no matter how difficult his layout is. But it is true that he need 4Lz to have more freedom in FS. And he can always water down his layout later. But as mcq pointed out, it also hurts his reputation. More so than it seems to hit other equally inconsistent skaters, perhaps?

Only thing better would be to do 3A-1lo-4S and keep the 3Lz on that 5-quad layout... :scard7:
