after thorough scrutiny on PPOS, there's nothing under around his hip bone and butt-cheek areas. so now I'm sure he wears thong-type underwear or nothing at all.

He better wear something.. I mean don't let us imagine something wild:scard8:

I can't find any visible evidence in my collection but i think the place you should be looking at is his upper thigh. There is a very visible underwear outline in some of the UA photos :) he definitely wears something (or else we would see another outline...:slink:)

yeah.. with UA or others, i am sure he wears normal underwear or sth. but for PPOS, I am quite sure he wears thong-type. I just couldn't see any lines where they should be.

Can't believe we spent 5 pages only to speak about yuzu's beautiful lips, hands, and booty the power of PPoS picture! all the sinful thoughts

LF = Lotta Falkenbäck, former Swedish competitive figure skater.
CI = Cecilia Ingman, Swedish journalist and sport commentator.

CI: It’s time for the last group and it’s the Japanese Yuzuru Hanyu who skates first. Listen and watch, he is so exorbitantly (never heard this word before, does it mean ”immeasurable”?) popular, he’s a big, big world star and in Japan he’s as big as possible.

CI: Let’s go crazy is the music in his short program, by Prince.

LF: Oh! Look at that entrance and that exit, quadruple loop. Wow.

(Before the 4S-3T, she’s excited)
LF: And then the… combination.

LF: And noo… No that wasn’t. Yes, ehm, mm, quadruple salchow, eeh, he does, I’ve never seen what he does, he does a “drag”(I really don’t know how to translate what she says, but she’s talking about the weight transfer) and then a double toeloop, it was a mistake of course. It’s going to be interesting to see what they say, the specialists.

LF: Oh! And the same there, it’s not only that it’s a triple axel that he does, it’s how he does it. Difficult entrance, difficult exit.

CI: He’s so popular and there are so many Japanese flags here.

LF: Wow.

CI: It’s not only that he’s popular, he has the merits (credentials, qualifications) for that as well. We’re talking about Olympic gold medal and WC gold medal.

LF: Look at the ice, this, I hope they have a lot of flower girls and flower boys because this is going to take some time. Wow so many things, and I hope it’s wrapped properly.

CI: (It) Does explain his incredible popularity. (Like it’s proof of how popular he is)

LF: He’s, he’s so amazingly good, he has a personality on the ice as well. It’s going to be so interesting to see how they (the judges) did, no I, it’s going to be interesting because I wouldn’t have given him the combination because he did that “drag” between the jumps.

CI: Yes we’ll see that soon.

LF: Yes, we’ll see.

CI: But it’s going to take some time because there are a lot of flowers… Here’s the replay.

LF: It’s a shame we didn’t get to see the entrance to this quadruple loop, it was really nice and really difficult. Jumping up from the right leg and landing on the same foot, and four revolutions. It was really nice. And the program as well, nice choreography, (and) difficult. Pay attention now, here's the salchow and you see he puts his foot down and then he does a toeloop. I wouldn’t have accepted it and neither does the technical specialists. He gets (points) for the quadruple salchow, but they’ll remove the toeloop which means that he’ll get deductions (minus GOE) from the judges, because it has to be a combination.

CI: After you notice you’ve done a mistake, you have to think fast, what can I do, what can’t I do.

LF: Yes, and he was “quick to think” about what he did actually. It was.

CI: We’ve also been talking about the components, and that’s it’s not only about the technique, and here we see the highest of highest quality, and interpretation of the music, the performance, the skating skills, where the maximum of points is 10 points.

LF: But he looses a lot, he looses an incredibly lot of points, I would say he looses, well, 8-10 points.

CI: 8-10 points, think if you added that to the points (he got), 98.39, he would have been in a clear lead. Now he’s in second place, with 98.39. What an incredible competition, the men’s short program, it’s the last group.

I am sorry to disturb this substantial and important discussion but I'm coming through with that Korean commentary translation I had promised. There are gaps and still parts I might not have understood correctly. It would be greatly appreciated if any Korean speaker could check it once more. (If the video is blocked for you here is a noise filtered audio file of the commentary.)

Thanks and shoutout to jinabee for checking my translation. :)

These are two very soft-spoken female commentators. They sounded almost like they had already resigned to Yuzu's greatness before going into this- as if nothing could faze them anymore

Korean commentary (SBS Sports) of the 2015 Grand Prix Final in Barcelona, Free Skate, Seimei

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4LasHRWYbM

----------------------------------------------

1: 21 years old. His coach is Brian Orser.
The music is from the soundtrack of Onmoji- Seimei.
By breaking the world record with his short program he achieved 110.95 points.
He has planned three quads.
Japan's Hanyu Yuzuru.

[During the program she just points out some elements.]

1: Japan's Hanyu Yuzuru.
2: Uwah... It was grand.
1: Yees
2: Yees
1: Hahahah
2: Hahahah
1: His expression looks almost scary.
During the short program he broke the world record he himself had set.
2: He is a skater that received the perfect score for performance in the components. Every single one of the nine judges gave him 10.0 points. That's the perfect score.
1: I've always thought of 10.0 points as the perfect score that can only be attained in theory but it turns out a skater that can achieve it has appeared.
During the NHK he has set a grand world record. Isn't he a skater full of potential that can keep on raising the bar?
2: That's right. He has completed three quadruples. Around the middle of the program six triples and even a quad are concentrated. To a quadruple with a good landing he linked a triple. (...) He displayed the ability to make cool-headed judgements. The quadruple jumps in the first half were executed with precise axes and numbers of rotations.
1: Now what escapes you isn't uwah (wow) but ohyu (sigh).
It was great. That was Hanyu Yuzuru.
2: The sound that extends from the ice surface to the arena after each jump and landing is the sound of clapping and cheering.
After the quadruple toeloop (...) he kept the momentum and stayed calm. The music made it possible to showcase a dramatic performance. The sound of the drum conveyed the support of the audience.
1: This program displays his nation's color very well and he has performed it to completion. Japan's Hanyu Yuzuru.
No matter how often you see it it's still picturesque.
Flying change of foot seated spin.
Following the choreo sequence he wraps it up with a spin.

1: With 110.95 points in the short he has broken the world record for the short program. The current free program record is at 216.07 points. His world record for the total score is 322.40.
He is the first skater to surpass 300 points, after all, and I am getting curious what kind of record he will set now.
2: The world record has become one that only he himself can break.
[They're laughing about Javi.]
1: Hanyu Yuzuru and Javier Fernandez who are training under the wings of the same coach.
2: They must know each other very well.
1: Uwahh. It's 330.43 points!
[Soft laughing.]
1: He broke the world record. Again!
2: 98.56 points for the components while 100.0 points is the perfect score.
1: An athlete that knows no limits. The scores are going up with no end in sight.
2: This is pretty much an A+ - with two pluses.
1: This is Hanyu Yuzuru who teaches athletes, coaches, the audience, and the judges wonder.
At this GPF the athletes' individualities are overflowing and there is an abundance of attractions. It was a splendid and great performance.
2: It was grand. His score is one where really all the judges must have given him perfect scores- 232.69 points. (She seems to have been confused.)
1: A score that approaches the perfect score- the score that can only be attained in theory. To attain it in reality... hahah
2: He is an elite athlete.
1: So it is possible in reality.
It would be appropriate to be happy with his whole heart.
He has already achieved the OGM in Sochi. Now he is an athlete where limits have disappeared.
Hanyu Yuzuru, in first place with 330.43 points.
[Continues to list the placements.]

Told you it's yours
Fun fact: my Pooh ball looks exactly the same as Winnie's, but instead of being an always-lands-on-his-butt bear, it's an always-lands-flat-on-his-face bear
Or, maybe, just maybe, you have perfect aim and throw, and managed to throw both bears so that they *did* land on their "feet", too.... and they are, in fact, your Poohs. *happily diverts the attention away from her*

Any Yuzu fans going to the World Team Trophy competition next week? I'm going to Day 1 and 2 for Men SP and LP. Just wondering if anyone is interested in a GS meetup. I'm new to GS so I don't know anyone.

I'm not sure who will miss The Purple Pants more, Massimo Scali or this thread? Everyone should send Ajinomoto fruit baskets for his +100 PCS backside

WTT's official practice will start on Wednesday, April 19

But he has an event this Sunday, Yuzu and shizuka's figure skating monument unveiling, which will be livestreamed via YouTube.

Questions regarding the Practice sessions, are they open to the public? Do you get to go in early if you have a ticket or is there some other special ticket to go in and see the practice sessions?

Also for those who's been to figure skating competitions, what's the proper attire? I know it will be cold. Should I bring a blanket to throw over my lap? I'll be there for 2 straight days and will probably sit through each disciplines and will be there awhile.

One word: layers. At Worlds I brought a blanket every day, but didn't use it once. Most of the time I wasn't even wearing my winter jacket because my three layers of clothing + a scarf were enough. But I've also been to a competition before where I was freezing my butt off even with two shirts, a sweater, my jacket and a blanket over my legs. In my experience it's better to be prepared for really cold and then be happy if it turns out to be warmer than expected :) (and do get up from your seat and walk around from time to time. Your body will thank you later.)

Thanks! Of course the only time I've ever been to a Ice rink as a spectator, I was totally unprepared and was wearing a thin wind breaker and shorts I think.

I went to the WTT 2 years ago and I don't think the practices were open then. The only open practices I've ever heard of in Japan was 2014 Worlds where the practice rink was open for viewing if you bought a ticket for it. At the last WTT The weather was warm, and I was ok in the arena with a down coat and blanket.

He's lucky I don't have any aim whatsoever :laugh2: because my throw is actually pretty good, and when I do hit something, well :roll9: ...... :dbana:
