I think it is because the solo jump requirement is a triple or quad jump, so if it's singled then it is invalid. It is the same for the ladies in the SP, if the solo jump is not a triple but only a double then it's an invalid element.

Ah I see, thank you. Such a shame, but 37 points with only 2 valid jumps and no combo isn't so bad I guess...

I'd rather he not keep it with reference to the reasons on my previous post 1 or 2 pages back. Another reason would be that although LGC is a crowd pleaser, when it is bombed, the attempts to be cool and effortless come off as awkward (though not very much with Yuzu being the cool bean he is) and a bit tragic, which is a risky thing to happen for Olys. Yuzu ought to choose something that he can save but still ellicits the reaction of 'Wow that was a smooooth save'

GAHH. All I hope is that he can do well when it counts because he might not be able to rely on consistency points/accurate GOE scoring.

I can't watch it live but after checking the score I was shocked.. I feel sad for yuzuru.. That must be very "kuyashii" for him (again). But it just a WTT, nothing to lose.. Better there than at World's.. Now I pray for him to make a great comeback for tomorrow FS. Go Yuzu! May God bless you! :hap10:

I posted a short 3 second video and a few pictures of purple pants of sin on my tumblr but have no idea how to find the URL and link it.

So guys, you're saying the scores aren't added, that means there's no chance that someone can break his wr?

SP and LP can be broken but I don't think they do a combined score here. Shoma scored the highest, but there's no way he can get a high enough LP to break combined score. He could still break LP score.

Chopin suddenly come to my mind, I mean I still can enjoy this program even with a fall

I hope he can shake this off. WTT isn't a big deal but of course he wants to always skate well and he always wants to perform well for Japan.
Everyone has off days, no one can be perfect all the time. He just needs to sleep it off, and start tomorrow as a new day, step out for the free as a fresh start and try. Even if he doesn't do perfect in the free, it's fine, WTT doesn't matter. Pretend it never happened, say goodbye to both programs and focus on next season.

I really hope over the off season he looks into different ways of getting a good mindset for himself; focused but not too intense, comfortable but not too relaxed, confident but not cocky. Calm. Not over thinking. Just doing.

:( I just want to give him a hug and tell him its okay. 1 bad skate doesn't mean anything or change anything.

well that's 100% the worst thing that could have come out of today, I don't even know where to begin with this :sad21:

Don't worry, it's that first interview after the program, when he will of course feel down. Then he'll be frustrated, then he'll pick himself up. He's had a long, difficult season, what with added stress of constantly playing catch up due to the injury so I think he is just about done, that's all. He needs a vacation. I'm sure Tracy will know how to handle him so that he can have a good performance tomorrow, which will soothe the SP wound!

I hope so too, but these are all fine lines that will be so hard to straddle. Oh, well, I hope they have a plan :sad46:

Didn't he mention that he wanted to use this event to try to figure out how to get into that 'feeling' of giving a flawless performance?
I guess he can chuck this "too focused and intense" mode out the window.

I myself was too focused and intense for him to get that perfect LGC performance, that when he popped the loop, I got instantly deflated. He might've felt the same way. This will probably be a learning experience for him (and for me as well ^^;)
