Today wasn't great but tomorrow is another day :ghug: I'm almost happy now that I will be working during men's FS :drama:
But I have something positive from today too: during monument ceremony I thought that his haircut was horrible but I've changed my mind

That second one :eeking: his...expression is interesting

Hello everyone,

I, too, just caught up.

I could not watch live-stream at work, for me, the sp took place at 1.00p.m., but I was able to follow the thread and read along. Some co-workers remarked and were astonished, as normally they see me work very hard on Thursday afternoon and today I just sat in my room..well.

So I read along and worked intermittedly.

Then I came home, downloaded every video I got and watched one thing after another: first the ceremony and read the thread, then warm-up, and by then I was so nervous I had to drink a large glass of very cool white wine before watching the sp itself.

And I felt better. You know, I feared something like Boston. Then, it was - to me- not only a bombed free programme, I felt I was watching having someone a nervous breakdown on the ice and it was horryfying, and I have never rewatched.

Today, yes, I would have wished him to have fun, don´t know why he looked so deadly earnest - it is the first time I watched WTT and think it is a strange kind of event. Funny and yet not? Don´t know. Not important.

And I would have wished for him to skate his inspiration for Prince and not to bomb the first half of the programme. But, you know, I found the second part to be simply beautiful!

I never saw it better and more inspiring!:)

Perhaps, when skating Prince, it is necessary to feel angry and frustrated?

I don´t know I am simply relieved that this is no Boston.

And I am so tired now, I know I am writing not very coherently, sorry!!

And thank all of you who watched live and wrote about it, so I could participate today.

Greetings,

raebia

(tomorrow I am able to watch live, hopefully!)

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today at this glorious page 4000 to join this man Yuzuru Hanyu and this quad combo, 4S-3T, in holy matrimony of a clean skate.

Do you, Yuzuru Hanyu, take this quad combo, the 4S-3T, to be your partner, to live together in holy matrimony of a clean skate, to love it, to honor it, to keep it and perform it perfectly, in addition to all others, for as long as you skate?
(he totally does)

Do you, 4S-3T, take this man, Yuzuru Hanyu, to be your partner, to live together in holy matrimony of a clean skate, to love him, to honor him, to stay with him and to be performed perfectly, in addition to all others, for as long as he skates?
(it totally does)

I, YH/4S-3T, take you, to be my partner, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for perfection, for wobbliness, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till the skate ends.

By virtue of the authority vested in me under the laws of the State of Yuzuru Hanyu Fan Fest, I now pronounce you partners.

To Yuzuru Hanyu - you may now perform a perfect 4S-3T, from this point on, for ever and ever.
Amen.

(I am so sorry, I had to)

I mean even before he skated :ohwell: Since we all know him looking so down at worlds in Boston before the LP (and all that intensity even before the SP) was because...there were other issues...I just really hope it isn't the case here.

If you meant issues with other people, then it should be one of those days, isn't it?
Frankly, he is always that intense for me. Sometimes it works out for him, sometimes it doesn't. Today is one of those days when it didn't work out. His team has been working on it, trying to make him calmer and less intense to see if it gives him better results, but things like this is quite tricky to work out. It's like telling people who have anxiety problem : "hey, don't get anxious!" or phobia : "hey, don't be scared of this". It is a work in progress that takes time, which may or may not give a result.
If it was health, we'll know later, I hope it wasn't.
Some people suggesting he should go to sports psychologist. It might be a good idea, but it can't be done in TCC, language and cultural barrier will make it very ineffective.

He almost lost Worlds again this year. He seems more emotionally fragile than ever. And he appears to be ruminating nonstop about his skating (not good). So yeah, I'm concerned for him. It's not because of this one event; it's because of the patterns I'm seeing.

But he always does that? Overanalyzing things and deeply analyzing everything? He has been like that since his junior years and he is always down/upset after a defeat. The difference is when he was younger and only started as a senior, a 2nd or a 3rd place finish is considered an achievement and good result for him. But nowadays, let's be real, he will not settle and be content for anything less than first or a world record. Heck, he is not even content with 1st anymore if he won it with a less-than-stellar performance. So wishing that he will go back to being jolly finishing 2nd or 3rd is something that is not gonna happen, to be honest.

Of course I would wish that he would take it easy , relax, be happy and enjoy competitions a bit more. But at the same time he is who he is and this whole kuyashii, self-pressuring, intense, overanalyzing traits are what made Yuzuru, Yuzuru; and these traits maybe are what allow him to reach new heights, win things, break records and be a legend in FS.

Yes, about intensity- after all this time I think, he is intense. He said something about his emotions in the post- sp- interview as well..and this is what gives him genius - and sometimes regrets. It is part of how he is.
