So these two dislike each other so much they want to sit together?! Fat chance! :) They're like Laurel and Hardy when they get together!

ETA -- I'm looking at Shoma's tie and wondering if he'll wear the one I sent him! I sent him an "end of season" gorgeous silk tie congratulating him on his great season. It had lots of lavender in it, so I told him it was to commemorate his Lavender program. Hopefully the team that opens his mail doesn't look at it and say "Ick, what is this?"

Oh, so happy for you that he wears the tie you gave him!!! That's so sweet of him. :luv17:

Shoma, you are secretly naughty:)

Even if WTT is not a real competition (for me, I can't take these scores seriously) and of little value it's such a fun event and gives enough content to let us fans out of the season, haha. I've already forgotten about angry Yuzuru and scared Shoma.

I like how japanese media tries to paint Yuzu and Shoma as rivals all the time but then they do things like: tickling each other, wedding ceremonies, hugging, that totally contradicts what the media wants them to do

They are rivals, after all. There is no denying it. But I think they also respect each other too much to play into this much. Because somehow they are in this together. And I think no one can understand Shoma as well as Yuzuru does. They are still kind of the same age, and Yuzuru is an open and bubbly personality. When Shoma started in the senior circuit you could see he was probably nervous around Yuzuru, but Yuzuru might've felt a bit lonely. Machida was older than him, and because Shoma is younger it felt more natural to be affectionate. Daisuke was the first World Champion from Japan, and while he didn't win Olympic Gold, he put Japan on the landscape in the men's event. So Yuzuru knows what it feels like, to be the younger challenger, like he said in the interview. And I think the language still plays a big part. Yuzuru can talk more in his mother tongue, so they gravitate towards each other, especially in foreign countries.

They get along so well and I think the age difference helps. It is nice to see friendly rivalries when sports can often be so bitter. I love the conversation between them, Yuzu saying "I am not going to lose" and Shoma responding that he's gonna try his best to beat him. It is just a good natured rivalry that is good for both of them. Both have sweet looks that hide the inner carnivore.

I just sent the tie a few days ago, so he hasn't received it yet. It's a really wild Jerry Garcia tie, so I'm not so sure it's his style. That's ok though, he doesn't know what his style is either, except for what his mom picks out! :agree:

i am sorry but SHOMA WITH THAT FLOWER CROWN!!!!

OMG! Too much! Wouldn't you love to go as a group to see him and everyone could wear those crowns?!

Nice compliment for Shoma from Kurt Browning on CBC's telecast today: He said he will miss his long program, calling it a ' work of art!' I agree. It was my favourite long program this year.

I've just realized I forgot to post my congrats here. What a bad fan I am. Well, then, congratulations on another 2 great skates, Shoma! He really made a splash this year, and I look forward to his programs next season. Do we know if he wants to keep either program? I don't think so... and I still think he'd give a terrific performance of Danse Macabre. That would be my dream program for him.

Do you have link? Is it on CBC website? I can only find full show without commentary there...

Congratulation to Shoma on such a great showing at his first WTT! I hope he is proud of what he achieved and how much he helped Team Japan here :)
Too bad the second 4F didn't work, but it was a brave attempt and he will have all summer to work on it if he wants. Though I hope he gets some rest first! I feel like he's been going non stop since the GPF.

I'm sorry, I must correct you. Not his first WTT, I was there in Spokane last year, and he was definitely there! Too adorable for words.

Wasn't that Team Challenge Cup? I think that's a different competition, no?

Anyway..... I'm sliiiiiightly obsessed with a certain silly pink bow at the moment  so I made a thing (another thing, actually. Making a Shoma edition was just too tempting ;) )
