Finally I've survived after +20 pages.. Seriously guys it just a day off for me from this thread... And you still have many things to discuss here.. I thought the thread is going to be slow in a progress as we are in the off season, but I'm wrong.. This thread moves like a thunder.. :laugh: I'm wondering if I have a week off from this.. What will I miss? :laugh:

Edit: oh I'm on top of page.. :laugh: anyway about next season, after watching yuzu's interview from the TV (the one he talks about 4A and 4Lz) I'm not sure about his layout. Perhaps he won't add 4Lz for next season if the rate of success still low. If he won't add new quad, could it be a new combo? 4Lo- maybe? What's more good for him, trying to add the 4Lz or new combo or staying with original layout from this season?

Finally my "Aoi Hono II" has arrived. I would never imagine the quality of the book and the photos. I was so excited when I found the package by my door, I didn't expect it till late May. The photos are gorgeous and the details in printing the book are so eye-pleasing. Although I convinced myself to buy it in order to improve my Japanese reading skill but I have to confess now that you don't need any excuse to buy it, just buy it :biggrin:
 
judging by that TV appearance, it seem Yuzu more confident with 4A than 4lz, is that even possible? the way he say "hmm...it seem I can jump that" even tho the lady not so sure

I'm a few pages back late, but if Shoma meet Nate at SA, the chance his jumps may get calls is quite a big, maybe SA will treat his Tech the same way SC treated Yuzu PCS.
 
Sometimes I want to move to Toronto and become an adult skater there. And not to be a total stalker—I'd do it even after the r*word—just because I like the vibe. "A family oriented private dining and sports Club. Cricket, Skating, Curling, Aquatics, Tennis, Squash, Croquet, Lawn Bowling and Health & Fitness." Aww. Croquet is fun too yo
 
i was watching some Spanish interviews with Javi and i found this one from April 2015 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzqM1XuIUOI&t=545s ). It’s 40min long, it’s very informal and friendly, the interviewer is pretty clueless about figure skating, lol. There’s this part where they talk about Yuzu (4:10-8:30) that I don’t think has been translated anywhere:


(They’re talking about how his rivals viewed him when he became the World champion)
J: ...(other skaters) now have to work to prevent that I become World champion again next year. The tables have turned a little, especially regarding the Japanese guy, my biggest rival
I: What's his name?
J: Yuzuru Hanyu
I: Hanyu is your nemesis..
J: Exactly
I: He's your enemy..
J: He's the top top, he's the Olympic champion and well, we train together with the same coach
I: Is that so?
J: Yes, well, *smiling* he (Yuzuru) is the one who'll want to kill me now (TN: he means he'll want to beat him/win)
I: So you share the same coach but do you actually train physically together? Or do you alternate?
J: Yes. No, we train together.
I: That doesn’t happen in other sports
J: No
I: This is as if Nadal and Ferrer shared uncle Toni, right? (TN: it’s a reference to the Spanish tennis coach). Two champions never train together, ever. It's a rare thing.
J: Yes *smiling big* Also, my coach, for the first time in history that this has happened, has trained the 1st, 2nd and 5th skaters in the World championship. Like you said, you can’t see this in any other sport
I: So does it favour you or bother you that your biggest rival knows you so well?
J: I believe it benefits us. When you train with people that are really at your level, you start pushing yourself. Whenever the other person has a better day or better practice and you aren't at the same level, you push yourself a bit. You say, "Joder (“f**k”), my biggest rival, look how he is right now", or "he's done much more work than me in these 20 minutes of training". I think we help each other to balance- to level ourselves.
But of course, there are often some “piques” (petty quarrels/resentment). We generally don’t show it but when he has a good training session and I’m falling/hitting myself everywhere then yeah, I say, “joder, tomorrow I’ll come and put the panniers/biers on him *laughs* (TN: ???? i guess he means he’ll make him carry a big load/struggle?)
I: What's Hanyu's signature move?
J: He's a very consistent skater. He does a good job at almost all competitions. I mean, he's a super complete skater. Everything he does is really... I mean, he's an Olympic champion.. He's always very clean, he's a /brilliant/ guy. He skates very well, jumps very well, his spins are wonderful.

...so yeah, i'm useless with the japanese language sadly (rip) but you can let me know anytime if there are other videos in spanish which i could help translate-

If i ever had the opportunity to skate there, thanks to some freak twist of fate (whatever the status of the rword) it will probably go like this:
I would look around with the biggest smile ever, skate around a bit and five minutes later i would turn into a sad ball of a person crying my heart out :laugh:

Ehhhh? Nevermind! Thank you, now I can easily rationalize flying around the world to watch Yuzu compete.

Now I understand why you are creeping outside the windows.

It's such a unique story; I really love it. Maybe someday we will hear more. I think while they are both competing they don't give away too much.
