My reaction when I read that: http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/1d/1db5b9aa583838540e00578b1464e9c58631e33113aba5416e6d897202a43196.jpg

You're welcome.:)

Thanks for the skatedb link, I like that site but in the past I found some mistakes on it (not Yuzu-related), so this time I wanted to make sure there won't be mistakes. This is why I searched for all the official protocols. It was a bit extra work but it's ok.

I wanted to calculate both the landed jumps apart from GOE and the landed jumps with +GOE, because I didn't want to give credit only for the jumps with +GOE...it would be just unfair but I wanted to highlight the differences, too, that's why I calculated both.

Not all, but most of them: every 2 out of 3 of his UR'd/DG'd jumps were falls.

Yeah, I think it is great to differentiate between landed and not landed. Sometimes negative GOE could be iffy too, especially in combos. Are you interested in listing the GOE? I can help you input the GOE, score (like TES and PCS breakdown) but I am really bad at organization so I would not know what kind of best layout it could be to not disrupt stuff and to make it easy to read. :slink:

I think most of his downgraded/ur jump are really badly landed jumps if not a fall, maybe a stepout, or something that is almost a fall, but I did not recall he landed an actual clean jump and get UR.

This is a really great sheet, Sally! :hap10:

Yuzuru always falls on UR jumps. That's my conclusion after numerous times of watching slow motion jumps. As long as he lands the jumps and not fall, it's always fully rotated (half loop does not count lol). There's no question about it.

This is actually an interesting stat differentiation that I think is important because, for example, while doing the fantasy protocol this season for all the guys, I've noticed that Shoma's 4F in his SP has mostly always gotten negative GOE (shaky landings, lack of steps, whatever) but if we were only to calculate percentages of positive GOE jumps, his percentage would be lower than the actual rate of his landed 4F. So I like this distinction because if we only count positive GOE, we don't actually count all the actually landed jumps, just the ones that were good enough to be well graded. But it's also always nice to have the positively graded jump percentage for comparison purposes too, because then we see how well Yuzu plays the GOE game (when the judges cooperate, of course: I'm still side-eyeing that judge giving 0 to his 3A at 4CC).

Sounds very promising. Can't wait.

btw according to yesterday's interview nothing about shows is decided yet. But it sounded like he he didn't want to say anything before any official announcement.

My feeling was that he was going to talk to his team in order to see how much time he could give to shows because he seems intent on using his off-season for good training time and plans on starting as soon as possible. He may even end up not doing shows if he thinks it'll interfere with his time, though aren't some shows usually used to test out your programs with audiences? Might be a good idea for such an important season.

I was referring to this:

Y: For now, it still has not been decided regarding being ice shows. I can’t really say since there haven’t been any announcements, but I want to start early in my training for next season. Training is important so I will keep my balance and will consolidate with my choreographer and coaches.

I also think that doing some shows isn't bad to test his new programs before the Olympic season.

:thank:

I would like to skate with my love for skating, and bring the ‘fire’ out of skating, and skate like fire.

The pure philosophical essence of Yuzu's burning soul.

His great love for skating is contagious. It is well known that many people started watching FS just because of him. But I wonder how many started skating themselves?

I suppose that if he does some shows this year that will be somewhere in june - july. Now he's doing that camp thing, then in may he gets new choreo, it's the only time left IMO

The camp ends on April 30. Then I guess he will return to TCC. And FaOI start on May, 26.

I thnk at WC 2013 he had a really badly landed 4S (almost a fall) and it was called UR. But yeah, I think he never lands a clean jump and get <

I heard rumors that he actually is not planning to go to shows in the first place. I meant, if you look at his schedule, he is pretty much going to be in Japan doing PR stuff+ team building until Apr 30 (full and busy!). Then if next week he immediately fly to Toronto, if he wants to join FaOI on May 26th he should be back in Japan by 23rd-24th. That is 3 weeks of learning both SP and FS and polishing them. FaOI would be the entire May and June then he will be back to Toronto again to train full time. If he plan for DoI too it will be longer. He kept mentioning things like health etc. When he said he is still undecided, I actually find it weird lol. I am inclined to think he is not planning to go, but we'll see because his endorser probably wants him too.

Also I heard the tickets are already sold out even without his confirmation of participation. FaOI seems to be more prepared on not having Yuzu around this season compared to last season, there are more star skaters compared to last year.

Thank you for those links! I guess I'm going to have to dig into the wonders that were those threads back then, now. Being a fan of both Yuzu and PChiddy, I can imagine the pain I'll go through before I'm done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a spreadsheet a Yuzu fan was keeping that chronicled all his jumps in his senior career with each respective competition and GOE awarded? I think it had a tab for each jump. Anyone know where to find that?

@xeyra/Sally/mcq, you guys can start this as a project and others can also join to update it in the future.

@Specs, didn't your friend created some sort of graph before on Yuzu.

They are going to have Plushy and Zhenya there right? Shoma and Shizuka were added too, and there will be Kostner. I think they invite so many people this year compared to last year, as if they are really preparing if Yuzu is eventually not going to join. They use his pics? Because on the FaOI website his pics are not available in any page, not even his name

Zhenia is not doing makuhari Pogo will be there .
By the way CIC's CEO and Akkiko will attend a Asahi TV program to talk promote FaOI this Sunday. I feel something unusual,I think FaOI has different strategy this to reduce the loss in case of Yuzu's absence, Especially much many competitive skaters are invited this year .

More photos from camp He is the only figure skater there?

I saw dice, keiji and shoma, ryuchi kihara there
there should be more

I think so too. Zhenya and Plushy is popular among Japanese right? and they have Shoma, Miki, Oda and Shizuka etc as home skaters in case Yuzu is not around. I feel like he won't be needed this year to fill out seats and they already prepared for his absence. Maybe he is thinking that skipping ice shows work for him last year so he is thinking of doing that too this year? :scratch2:

I have a business trip to Japan in June, so I decided to go to a Niigata show. Apparently, the best seats and the second best seats were all sold out during the pre-sale period. Now they are selling the blocked view seats at the same price.
