The Russian ladies are definitely getting a lot of hate on here. I'm not a fan of many of them, heck, I don't like some of their skating myself, but some comments that are posted here and stay on here are just beyond believe.

Yeah and he will never get any warnings and infractions.

It's even worse, the mods know who he is and actively deny it. I mean, we really don't need a discussion about double standard with that one...

And yes, exporting this whole thread is fine. Although I'm sure within a year we'd have a bigger new one anyway, with the way this is going :p

This. People are discussing whether Yuzu can be considered GOAT yet or what else he needs to do for that, and I think a lot of it comes down to his being the first to break points barriers, to be the one who holds so many world records. Without the records his competition history is obviously still extremely impressive but there are others who can match/beat it, so then they can downplay his achievements and say 'well so-and-so won this competition more times than Hanyu so he can't be that good.' With the dominance he's had over the world records for the past few years though I think it's pretty obvious why so many people consider him the best, and even if the ISU doesn't officially recognise it pretty much all the rest of the world does :handw:

Many considered Yuna Kim the GOAT and her track record is pretty much the same with Yuzuru. 1x OGM, 2x WC, 3X GPF champ. she won 4cc though :p

yeah, but reading the thread in its early years is quite a treat. :) Makes you laugh and roll eyes alternately. And makes you proud, of course.

What doubts?

Just doubts due at my ignorance, of course: to have some clarifications about some elements because Yuzuru complete them so seamlessy and effortlessy that sometimes for me it is not so easy to understand their beginning/ending. And then a couple of question about jumps/ bullets.

P.S. I think that for a possible italian translation of the video, you already have Carolina and Lys, but if any help is needed I can give an hand

As a newbie, I want to say thank you all for your passion, love and support for Yuzuru. It is so inspiring and exciting. My husband and I have become big time followers this year and it has spread throughout his family. We've all gone nuts for Yuzuru's skating, competitiveness and passion. Adults and teens alike. When I found this site it made me "so happy".
I have learned a lot by lurking here, and the video is out of this world. It's all over my head at this point. We've been admiring the beauty of his skating without realizing all the complexities involved. Thank you to all involved for this masterpiece, and I'm glad to see the original title has been restored.
And thanks for all the links to videos and photos. They make my day.

Yeah, I remember there was a yuzuruhanyu forum, something like maoasadaforum one. But taking care of the server and else would be work and it requires $$$, so unless someone is going to spend time and fund it, that would not be an option.

I actually don't despise GS that much, been a lurker here since before Sochi. Back then many were actually more into his bandwagon because they despise how Chan was scored lol. Now that he is the man to beat who has won everything (but 4CC lol) of course the sentiment will shift. That said, there are MANY neutral FS fans who are not Yuzu ubers in GS, and they are very appreciative of his skills and talent. They usually just avoid threads that are hellfire though, and you can find them in more neutral topics that talk about techniques. It is quite unfortunate that the thread become a hellfire like that because it could have been a platform for a constructive discussion. :/

Yeah, SashaFans.com cost $$$ to upkeep and when she retired we decided to close the boards. A lot of history went bye bye with it which was sad. Not just servers would be a problem. There are also spam. When she got silver in Torino we got inundated with angry Russians who spammed the place like crazy. So while it has its plusses, there are downsides too. :confused2:

ETA: Oh snap, there s the waybackmachine though!

Now you make me howl with happiness whereas earlier I was drowning in tears of misery. Thank you - and welcome! Bring your husband along (do we have a man in the thread, by the way?)

GOE bullets is partially subjective too, imo. But yulia gave out her reasoning about why she reward him those. I actually don't find doubts about them, I might have some differing opinions, but there is nothing I consider invalid/questionable on that video.

Yuzu's got 4 GPF titles. To make up for 4CC.

Yes and he is still competing so hope there would be more to come ;)

Exactly. Yuzuru had a forum like that but it was closed eventually. Unless there is a rich mogul who want to fund it and pay someone for the maintenance of the server, it would only be a temporary place haha. :p

Yes, quite a number of them actually. They just don't post often. :p

Yeah I know, getting a forum run is really difficult. One can dream though :dbana:

And yes, there are nice posters on here too. Not all of them are Yuzu fans, but when they criticize they are fair and even if I don't agree, it's interesting reading it. But the problem with these things is that the louder bad ones always overshadow the rest. And then when you have cases like this one special one that shall not be named... it makes me motivation go 'puff'. Maybe I should stay out of the non-FF stuff for a while - and put my energy into doing actually useful stuff instead

That is what I do
I stay out of competition thread where Yuzu is competing and threads where the title would likely be "hellfire". I often visit thread that talk about techniques and rules/regulation though, I like those kind of stuff and USUALLY the posters there are quite level-headed and the discussion is more informative and useful.

I didn't want the video to be post in the edge I knew how it was going to end, didn't want such great video to end with such crazy comments and I can see some double standards too, I love reading yuzu fanfest too, I always find great comments and different points of view and many photos and news and translations which is very important because I know nothing of Japanese:luv17:

The YuzuruHanyuForum was closed not due to the admins but because the host server was shut down unfortunately. :(

To be honest, I get why some people sometimes think about leaving. I'm also ready to quit this place like every other week. My main (well, only) occupation here is posting nonsense, but guess what, I enjoy posting nonsense. And I don't really see a viable alternative for me where else I could do this. Leaving GS wouldn't prove ****, and the only one who'd lose something would be me. When things get too annoying, I take a break from this place (it's not like I got nothing else to do with my free time) and the rest gets handled by the ignore list. I'd rather deal with the negative sides of this forum from time to time than forever lose out on all the good parts.

I woke up peacefully and happily this Saturday morning, and opened this fan fest as usual.
I was so surprised reading some people talking about leaving GS. I was totally confused,
"What's happening?!?!"
Then I went to the Edge, and now I understood.
Ahhhh, what a frustration! Please don't give up this thread!!!!!
You may know or not, but in Japan there are no forums for Yuzuru.
There used to be his threads which started in his junior days on very famous board
but they were attacked by I can't say whom after Sochi, and nowadays people rarely write.
All we have now are various twitters and individual fan blogs.

It's so much fun to read this fan fest everyday, and also I occasionally go back to the posts
written at many Yuzu's epoch making moments such as GPF 2014, NHK2015 and GPF2015.
By reading all of your posts, I live through that moment again and cry one more time.
This thread is already history of Yuzu, and it's not completed at all.
I don't write here so often, but I'm sure there are many many people all over the world
who read, enjoy and are always thankful to all of you who post various stuffs about Yuzu.

Can't we just avoid the Edge and ignore the mean posters?
I think Yuzu needs our support more than ever in this Olympic season!

wow. if Yuzu can't be discussed in his homeland... what are we complaining about? About one case of cyber bullying?
