Yulia Lipnitskaya

I don't think she's even training since last time she was in Moscov and it seems she didn't come back to Sochi, while
Urmanov was training some other young skaters.

Also, training for the test skating in september had to begin one month ago at the very least, and till now we don't know anything about her preparation.

To be honest i thought so too, but on the other hand I don't think anyone would know if she was in Sochi (from the public).

News and rumors are often spread from friends or teammates, it's the same for the other atlhetes. I think someone should know about Yulia's condition a month before the beginning of the competitions.
I'm very pessimistic about her return this season.

Yeah for me the big indicator that she is unlikely to compete this season was when her coach did this camp that's (from what's been said) lasting several weeks before test skates...in the season of the Olympics. I hope that if she is done competing, as in retired, that she is doing it because while she was injured she found something she loved more than skating and not because of an injury....while injuries are part of any sport I don't like to see it end a career especially someone that is young in their career.

That is the message from Yulia in a joking manner.

Obviously she began training on the ice.

She's a funny girl and very self critical. I remember Lenok saying how her sense of humor was very unique and caught her off guard at times.

I'm not expecting to see her at test skates but I'd never count her out completely.. Her SP last year was one of the best programs from any skater and really showed her potential and growth as a skater. I do think she could still be great again! It's so sad to see her struggle in the FS and with injury though. She never really seemed to learn to cope with loss and grow from it. I think Eteri and her just deteriorated at a crucial moment in her career and that certain scars may have been born during this period to her competive spirit.

I must confess that I'm very curious to see what's next for her. I still think she's going to work with animals like as a veterinarian but only she knows those answers. I'd welcome any more skating publicly from her but have long ago made peace with the notion of her calling it quits and moving onto another chapter of life. Once you hit the level she was once at...I would think given her nature it would be hard to continue if she is unable to rise back to the standard she once set and once achieved. She is a winner and has incredibly high expectations that are not going to be easy to meet.. It's understandable for her to be ready to move on in life if you were to ask me.

Can't see it since i don't have a VK account and i don't want to give them my telephone number. Can someone repost it somewhere?

Good morning and Доброе утро to ev'rybody.
Just to add my 50cents.

According to Lyudmila Kovaleva (russian nationals artistic gymnast), Yulia don't announce her retirement, so she will be counted in the reserve-team.
In reserve-team, she will receive salary for 2 years.

More, i look at her VKontakte profile almost daily, and i see she is awake (her telephone is on), until midnight and more.
To be awake so late, is not compatible with a training session.

Who's Lyudmila Kovaleva to Julia and why should we believe her?

Luda is nobody to Yulia, she's in russian nationals artistic gymnast team only.

Maybe me did not express myself correctly. Me wanted to say, if Yulia wanted to retire, Yulia didn't announce her retirement, in order to be counted in the reserve-team (and receive 2-years salary).
This dont mean Yulia retired, nor Yulia not-retired.

I was thinking about this too, that she didn't announced her retirement yet in order to not lose sponsors :/

But how this Lyudmila knows anything about Julia's decisions or plans? Is she Julia's friend or her mothers?

This performance is blessed with the Barcelona rink announcer that everyone fell in love with. Never mind that the judges hammered her for this performance. She connected with the crowd and the applause-o-meter got a good work out ;)

2014 GPF SP (Megapolis)

Her reaction after she finishes really shows her emotional attachment to skating well. Tell me you didn't smile with her :)

I think that score they gave her absolutley crushed her though

I wouldn't give to much into rumors, quite often people tell things to be someone, not because they actually have knowledge to share. Personally, I think that Yulia is at a point in her life, where she want´s to try things out and not always be in the spotlight.

My personal moment with Yulia was at the Europeans pre Olympics, she was the star for everyone, but at the same time, she just wanted to be a normal girl, doing her thing on ice. While other athletes were posing for pictures, signed autographs all the time, she stayed in the background and when you talked to her more private, she was actually loosing up as if she was finally able to breath. The majority of people will never know that side of Yulia, but if they would, then they would understand her path a lot better.

It is quite a dilemma we have, that the biggest stars are often also the ones who hate to be one.

Whatever she is up to, I hope it will make her happy. It is her life and as sad it may be for her fans, if she want´s said life to be without the public, then that is her decision, one that needs to be respected.

This is definitely my favourite performance of hers . She didn't get her highest score here, but nevertheless I enjoyed her. While I don't think the score was terrible, it certainly should've been a bit higher.
