I'd asked for you to name a programme and a section of choreography. It's as simple as writing- this programme, the section between the circular step and the second lift, or whatever. If you want to label Dean's choreo as pretentious I'm perfectly open-minded that your opinion might be correct, especially as I don't have a great knowledge of those programmes choreographed for people other than him and Jayne. I don't really think that watching a video about Shae-lynn Bourne and Ashley Wagner is going to help establish whether your saying that "Dean tends toward choreography with pretentious movement that breaks the flow" is a sound basis for what else you have written.
I mean: if I were to state a Torvill and Dean programme that has complete flow from beginning to end with undoubtedly no pretentious movement, I would cite this one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvG8EJoR3qc. I would also describe this as the classic Torvill and Dean style. If I would cite a particular part to focus on I would say the entrance to the first lift, which bears some comparison to the entrance to the curved lift for G and G this year, except the arabesque position of Jane is held then compromised through a turn and the resumed and then held before a really difficult lift, which is actually created twice created because of the turn in the middle, then with a complex exit, all whilst maintaining complete flow, then with the classic two crossovers that Torvill and Dean used to do before restarting another sequence of movement, in order to maintain flow.
