Panenkova won't be in Croatia. The only Russian ladies there will be Samodurova and Tarakanova. Panenkova will be in Poland next week.

I actually like that Evgeniy seems to be very ambitious as a coach. Yes, maybe he talks more than he should sometimes but he will also have great motivation now to prove his words. And I would love to see her back - new her. But even if not, she seems to be so happy that he gave her a chance and she has her dreams back. By praising her he also builds her confidence.
I agree. And if that doesn’t work out, she would very likely have a job in his show, or at his school as a coach later on, if she is interested.

I am curious the standards Plushenko has to take students. Does he take young kids when they are around 10, where they already have basics; Is he considered a top priority for young kids, equivalent to other long established coaches? So far, it made news that he takes Adelina, Sima and the other Eteri's former student. It seems he is more like a "shelter" for former hopefuls, who need to heel a wound in addition to better skating skills. Sima's jumps were all the way wrong from the very beginning, and I predicted that she would have big troubles. It takes wonder for her to be a top contender again, even in her best shape.

I hope that after evgenia wins the Olympics, her team feels confident enough to allow her to do different types of styles. She always has a program in the same style and tone as before. It's not as if she can't do another genre; I've seen her exhibitions and they're varied, fun, and show her other abilities.
If she wins the Olympics, she will probably retire. With so many skaters coming through from juniors every year, why would she want to keep fighting if she could start receiving the rewards of her hard work? It must be hard to keep your motivation up if you achieved everything that one can achieve in this sport.

Wrong. It will depend on her shape. She has a potential to be an even better skater. And about "so many skaters coming through from juniors every year" - who? And how many of them will be on the top positions? Evgenia - two years ago, Maria - a year ago, Alina and Polina - now? Not so many. Yes, in the next season are coming Stanislava, Alisa and Daria. But will they be success? I'm sure only in Daria. For now, to me, from juniors only Panenkova and Gulyakova have a chance to be the future for Russia. They're lucky (or not, hard to say) with their physiology that puberty hit them at such a young age. Maybe also Tarakanova. Their jumps are so high, especially Gulyakova's. They could progress and progress, and be the most dangerous in the next four seasons. I'm afraid for Sasha. She's so small, and it's question of time when she will start to grow. Anna - also hard to say, her legs already are very long, and she will grow in the future.

She seems different from the other athletes to me, so yeah I really do feel that she's going to stay. And she often talk about how skating is her life iirc I can't imagine her stopping so soon.
Not bashing other athletes btw, if you win an OGM and you don't feel like continuing then you have all the right to stop.
Everyone says that. Sotnikova, Volosozhar/Trankov... and they tried, but... It is very hard to say ‘no’ to all those shows that suddenly start coming their way, and various appearances, earning money without having to train hard.

Remarkable figure skater Sonechka Samodurova will soon perform at the junior Grand Prix stage. She needs a good performance to show that her "grand prix winner title" is real. For now there are no big titles and medals in her "coin box". But she already has some skills. Sonia has the best 2A among all Russian junior ladies who competed at the international events in 16/17 season. This is her best element. Well, a good 2A is already Mishin's team brand.
