With URs, as always. Same with Fedichkina. But seriously, those St. Pete events are important for Russia or it's just for fun? Look at their PCS. It's a joke.

Here is the results table. The judges' scores. And compare it with the scores for PCS from this JGP. Just meh.

Not possible because only five Russian ladies got two spots. In theory, Guliakova and Konstantinova would have a chance to get into JGPF, but as there is no more spots available, they won’t get a chance. The last two spots are already taken by Kostornaya and Samodurova who both won their first event.
 
I think Taakanova has the best programs by far from all junior Russian ladies and when she's on with her jumps it's fire :luv17:

They are important. If you are not good enough to get on Russian team, you still can get on Moscow team or on St Petersburg team (or other areas teams). It has funding implications. To be on one of the areas teams, one needs to be winning their competitions.
 
PCS are inflated at all national competitions, not only in Russia or SPB. Watch canadian or american and you'll se even more pcs scores

That's great, so many talents shouldn't be lost. But their overscoring is insane. Konstantinova with bad SP and 2 popped jumps in the free gets 200 points. Now the weak skate from Fedichkina, and she gets almost 130 points for this. Look at Open Moscow Cup. How strict they were with Kostornaya, Kurakova, Sinitsyna. And compare with St. Pete. Ugh. :disapp:
 
alena recieved a 182 at moscow open, with much better skate than at jgp. so not all national competitions are inflated. spb local inflation is on canadian level

with those scores they should've been in the JGPF, shouldn't they? :laugh:
sometimes it's so funny to see the scores from some unimportant competitions(like Finlandia Trophy as well), judges are going all in
 
judging at some events are more strict, at some - more generous. But mostly generous at national events. Don't know about small events in US, but depending on Nationals, it's the same.

Forgot to ask you, Lana05. Do you know how to reply with quotes? Or it's your style? Because sometimes I don't know with whom you're talking to. I mean, now it's obvious but if some others will write here, it will be kind of confusing...
 
I think it's going to be tough for Liza to make the Olympic team. She just doesn't earn enough GOE on the non-jump elements to compete, even when she skates her best. It's kind of a similar situation for Maria S, as well.

Yeah, you're right. I think there might be a myth about the depth of the Russian women, at least at the senior level. Relative to other countries they are strong, but I don't think any of them besides Evgenia and Alina would even be medal contenders at the Olympics (maybe Anna on her best day).

That's true. But you're forgetting the mystery girl... She will compete at NHK Trophy and at Skate America. :)
