I love Evgenia's new program. It's enough of a departure from her usual style while still playing to her strengths. There's a tragic story without any attempts to be Averbukh OTT - it's not about world hunger or the Holocaust or anything like that. The music is much more dynamic than her previous LPs. The new costume is also mature.

How mad is Averbukh? Is he going to bash her in the press?

I really liked that change from Team Medvedeva. This is something different from her previous two LP's. I'm not claiming it's better than them but it was like they knew the winning formula and using it all over again. It's good they went more courageous and are taking risk to make an unforgettable olympic moment with Evgenia who is quite good at interpretation of this character.

I still think that Anna Pogorilaya had made a better AK character, though. We don't know if Team Pogorilaya has ever made a competitive version of that beautiful exhibition. If Anna also chooses to go that way, it might be battle of Anna Kareninas! Realistically talking, I'm really looking forward to see what kind of program she prepared for Swan Lake. Is she going all the way for a Black Swan? Is she going to be only white swan? Or a third option as a halfly black&white one?

And that doesn’t mean that the others don’t deserve to get there; the others were better this time. I would rather leave K/I off the JGPF and give them more time to work on their side by side triples as well as throw jumps. So what’s the point writing here how you are not going to watch JGPF because your favourite pair didn’t get in? I'm fan of flawless and flying skating, of innovative things in skating, of difficult elements. But yeah... I'm kind of accept it. After the greatest injustice - Anna Scherbakova's injury, other things shouldn't hurt me... This girl could put two quads in the free program 4T+3T(2T), 4T... Without any URs. She could impress the whole figure skating world, and she is just 13yo...

But she is nowhere now.

While it is definitely unfortunate, you're over-dramatizing. She is indeed just 13. Since she is back on ice, she can maybe even get back in shape for Junior Russian Nationals but even if she is not, she will be 14 next season which means plenty of time to show everything she can do. It's not the end of the world, thankfully. She'll recover and be even better when she comes back. You sound like her career is over :noshake:

No. Only Trusova, Panenkova and Tarakanova are a sure thing.

Mako Yamashita has a chance, she's currently 4th in ranking but it will all depend on the last JGP. We have Kostornaia, Samodurova, Rika Kihira and Nana Araki and they all have a shot at it.

It was a very decent performance by Zagi. She is sure doing a good job as senior this season.

As a side note, someone was bragging here how Marin was going to beat Zagi in every aspect at Japan Open. I´d like to put some salt on this persons woulds by pointing out that Marin had lower PCs than Zagitova there.

You must have confused salt with sth else, because Marin was obviously not clean: missed combo and step-out on 2A.
She may be loved in Japan, but she ain't Carolina Kostner to receive top PCS with two errors.

Well, using simple logic.
You were claiming a clean Marin would beat a clean Zagi even with the 5-8 TES points disadvantage... That basically means clean Marin would score 8-10 PCs points above a clean Zagi. Which means that, because of her mistakes at JO, she lost 15 PCs points or so.
Not how the scoring currently works, just saying.

I like the new FS for Evgenia a lot. It's funny, I remember watching the ex version and only thinking it was okay, but I enjoyed the Japan Open performance. I was fine with the old FS, but I think this is a good choice.

The other FS was more interesting I thought (except for the ending choreography after the end spin).

This particular Anna Karenina program needs to be more avant-garde. It's lacking in the performance sector for me. It needs more drama. The other program I thought had more performance aspects, though it didn't flow as well as this one.

Each of her programs so far has positive and negative aspects. I always thought the Karenina program was more suitable for a post Olympic LP.

why can't she change layout ?, its early in the season, when she gets really comfortable with the program she can backload more jumps or change her layout, Medvedeva usually peaks late in the season.
