I hope one of these juniors survive to go to seniors, definitely the most technical russian ice dancers to qualify in the JGPF.
Ushakova/Nekrasov, Shevchenko/Eremenko, Khudaiberdieva/Nazarov have the most technicality to upgrade. Polishchuk/Vakhnov and Skoptcova/Aleshin I think will age out of juniors next season. While I want to like Konkina / Yakushev, her being only 16 with that height I question their longevity.

Polishchuk/Vakhnov still have 2 more years besides this, I think.

Skoptcova/Aleshin and Shpilevaya/Smirnov have to move up after this season, but all the other teams that have medalled at this season`s Junior Grand Prix circuit have at least one other season to skate in Juniors.
you're right I did a quick wiki, she's only 16 and he's 18. :shocked:, they look mature though.
I also like Khudaiberdieva/Nazarov, I think next season will be their breakout year. I hope one of these juniors will step into russian seniors post 2018, The thought of Stepanova / Bukin as rus no.1 with a recent TES losing to Popova / Mozgov is just..... :noshake:, Sinitsina / Katsalapov have slowed down, didn't Marina said before they were the fastest team.

after 2018, once Bobrova / Soloviev retire it will be a huge vaccum to fill the black hole that heck, lets just put Popova / Mozgov as russian no.1 for the sake of it.

Betina and Sergei need a lot of polish and progress to become Russia no 1. I don't think this will happen.
To be honest I can see weaknesses in every junior team.
I thought that the most promising team would be Shipelvaya/Smirnov, but now with his injury and losing this momentum, I don't know how they'll evolve in seniors.
I hope his injury isn't serious and they will return next season as seniors, their issues have always been low levels in step sequences and elements even with their amazing skating skills.
I don't think they had always this problem, at least last season I don't remember something like this.

Well, it`s normal for junior teams to have weaknesses, they are all pretty young. Even extraordinary teams like Virtue/Moir and Papadakis/Cizeron had things to work on when they moved up to Seniors, they just did it in a very short time.
It`s just very exciting to see so much talent coming out of Russia and I`m curious to see who is going to manage the move up to seniors the best.
I suspect this is a coaching issue, they have level issues just as Stepanova / Bukin whom both share the same coaches.
The problem is that I see structural weaknesses on what you can not really work: such height difference, lack of charm etc
. In a few words, I am not impressed by any top junior team, except Shilpevaya/Smirnov and maybe, with a lot of work, Shevchenko/Eremenko.
I mean, yes, they are all good teams and we don't know how they'll progress from now on, but I don't feel that they are outstanding teams, or they have the potential to be outstanding.

I don't know if I missed something but why Shpilevaya and Smirnov were not given 2nd spot on JGP? Was it a decision of the Russian FS Federation or is someone injured ? (hopefully not)
They were originally given Croatia as their second assignment but they withdrew... Then they were given a spot at the Italian JGP but withdrew again. There have been rumors about coaching problems and injury.
