B/S isn't the most outstanding technical team for sure. Neither are C/L, W/P, formerly P/B, with the like of whom B/S has been fighting for a bronze sometimes fourth place for years and years and years...Every time a technical team like Chock/Bates or the Shibs skate well B/S and C/L and W/P lose to them. Unfortunately Gilles/Poirier are not even within this range...I actually really like G/P. This makes me think maybe Carol Lane is not liked in the judges' community which reflects on their scores...

Neither Chock and Bates, or the Shibs are that mastered in the technical side. I'd say Chock and Bates could be a better team, but they are just inconsistent time and time again. They barely got it together for a clean SD at WTT last year. And the Shibs had some very pedestrian levels just last season, you can check SA and their worlds SD, for which they seemed to be unable to understand how they got a lvl2 in their PSt - which was motive of ridicule in here when it came to B/S.

I don’t know why s/k won’t retire and do shows. They have no consistency and have no hope for any success in dance.

I'm still curious about their leaving Michigan to return to Moscow. I thought they were having a good time training. The most I read was that there were *ahem* "dark rumours" on some message boards but nothing outright in English-language media I could find. It still seems suspicious to me though ...

The story makes no sense. They all agree to stay in America for rehab after surgery. Then they leave for rehab in Russia. They say zueva will coach via Skype. They abandon that plan totally and switch to Tchaikovskaya. Questions are: why do anything with zueva for 2016-2017? Why choose Tchaikovskaya? Why was there no planning ahead? Why not stay in America the whole season and skip Russian nationals? The whole season? Why not fly back to America after Russian nationals? Why not travel with rehab people?

Their chance is already zero! They had to skate absolutely clean and they dosn`t! I`m sad but it`s a fact!

Relax, Eisfee. It's only CS, not GP. And they scored 63 WITOUT ONE ELEMENT while at Euros this year they got 64 for probably best SD they've skated that season.
The real challenge will be GP. Now it can be considered as bad luck.
But I also think that their Olympic chances are close to none, regardless of their overall performance this season.

If they didn’t have history of total failures at NHK gp events you may have something. The bottom has not been found yet.

They needed to be clean and impressive and they failed so it’s time to retire.

Then they need to retire. Why are they so opposed to being one of those teams that retire due to lack of money.

Ok we get it. They can retire on their own terms and I highly doubt they want to give up before at least attempting to qualify.

I think the Samba part still needs work and maybe they should think about changing that lift. Otherwise, all these talks of retirement are nonsense. The good news are that they got massive GOE for their twizzles and even if they don`t have a chance against S/B, they still are solidly #3 in Russia, which means they will at least be skating at Euro`s.

That was worse than their two outings before. What is going on with them? Victoria, cannot handle the choreo in the Samba section and Nikita seems so much smaller than her. Yes, she's maturing so he needs to hit the gym, almost looks as if he can't manage her. Bottom line, they were overscored, IMHO. I hope their team can help them get together for the FD and if there's an injury it doesn't make sense to be forcing things and give these disastrous performances.

No a fan of either team. But at least S/K is improving or working on improving.

I/Z does not exist anymore. I is trying to qualify for nationals. No improvement only disappointment except the first half (2/3) season. What a waste.
