No love and no chemistry, just beautiful skating. Same old style and nothing new from Papadakis/Cizeron after their breakthrough....

Alexandra Stepanova better not enter GS after this interview https://rsport.ria.ru/interview/20171028/1127868940.html At least Ivan was more complimentary.

Oh, Alexandra. Maybe go work on your skating skills and posture now, your programmes could definitely use a bit of that "beautiful skating" that you scorn. Learning not to trash-talk your competitors would be useful, too.

After watching Loboda/Drozd`s Short Dance and seeing in the practice clip that they haven`t changed their music, I think they need an intervention ASAP. There`s too much talent to get wasted on programs like they got this season. I`m surprised they scored as high as they did at Skate Canada in the SD. Let`s see how the judges will react to their Free Dance.

They aren’t event trying to be successful. Why do almost all other teams in ice dance view North America as the road to success. Why haven’t they moved to North America yet? Why aren’t they being coached by dubreil zueva krylova or spiliband? Why be with a Russian coach? Why not even Fusar poli.

Yes, the universe sends them, and to Ilinykh too, messages that they are on the wrong paths. Ilinykh and Katsalapov should reunite and work on that karma. And I'm not joking.

And why is Zhulin always travelling with S/K? He has a team to prepare for Olympic games...

What exactly do you mean by "always"?
Like, they've skated in this one and only international competition so far.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=80667MPjHVg - a lot of hugging in the end, for those who were complaining

That was worse than their two outings before. What is going on with them? Victoria, cannot handle the choreo in the Samba section and Nikita seems so much smaller than her. Yes, she's maturing so he needs to hit the gym, almost looks as if he can't manage her. Bottom line, they were overscored, IMHO. I hope their team can help them get together for the FD and if there's an injury it doesn't make sense to be forcing things and give these disastrous performances.
It is not Victoria who can’t handle the choreography. It is Nikita. Victoria made one smaller mistake in the SP, but at least she didn’t throw him on the ice. He did one big mistakes in the SP and several in the FD. And regarding her maturing, she is very thin. There was something wrong with Nikita, he is not very good under pressure, but that has nothing to do with her figure. I don’t think hitting gym will sort out his head. The bottom line is, Nikita is very accident prone. He can skate, but he is very inconsistent and make often mistakes and sometimes even a small mistake spiral out into a huge mistake or a whole series of mistakes.

He needs to retire. She needs to leave him. It’s a disgraceful waste of resources.

Bobrova/Soloviev and Loboda/Drozd were invited to the Shanghai Trophy http://www.isuresults.com/events/cat03108306.htm

I doubt B/S can fit this into their schedule, especially if they qualify for the GPF, but I think it`s a great opportunity for L/D to show again their programs and earning some nice prize money, so hopefully they will be going. :)

As mentioned by uhh in the Ilinykh/Shibnev fan thread I/S are entered for the 4th Stage of the Russian Cup Series to qualify for Nationals. It will be interesting to see how they stack up against Morozova/Bagin, who are also trying to qualify. In Juniors Skoptcova/Aleshin and Ushakova/Nekrasov are entered. They have both qualified for the JGPF, so this is another interesting competition to watch.

Could you, please, post the link to the list of participants for the fourth Russian Cup?

I hope b/s stop all competing find a new coach and don’t appear again until Russian nationals! Maybe Fusar poli wil take them?

Since Russian ice dance ladies are so lack of talent and so sloppy (Bobrova, Stepanova, Popova and others), maybe RusFed should organize a new pair - Soloviev/Bukin? [emoji848] That would be interesting and much promising!

I was just looking at the rest of the GP field, and I think B/S are totally out of the GPF now. With P/C, V/M, and the Shibs winning a GP, that most likely only leaves three spots. Weaver/Poje, Chock/Bates, and Hubbell/Donohue have all posted higher scores than B/S to win a tie break. If Hubbell/Donohue end up with two bronzes allowing B/S to be higher in the GP standings, that means Cappellini/Lanotte most likely end up with two silvers and C/L replaces H/D on the list of teams ahead of B/S. No wonder B/S looked super disappointed in the KnC outside of losing the silver. They knew they just lost their trip to the GPF.

So what are b/s going to do about it? Will they finally get new coaches and new programs?

Probably nothing. Teams who didn't make the GPF have won medals before. It's hard, but it happens. Plus they're good enough to be on the Russian Team Event and can go for another gold that way.
