2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

She too is very good for her age, but overall, even disregarding the jumps, I quite prefer Samodelkina's skating. I just don't "feel" Akatieva's skating all that much. But she has a lot of promise and that can come in the near future.

That's not about her skating at all. All that hype about Sofia Akatieva exactly because of her jumps. Look at her rotation speed - that's insane. In 2-3 years she definitely will jump the quads.

What about skating, I'm not sure about Samodelkina. I saw again Davydov near the rink with his youngsters. That's awesome that he spends a lot of time at local competitions with his skaters. I hope he's doing some notes, because three of his senior skaters - Mitrofanova (not with him anymore), Mikhailova and Tarusina - all of them have low PCS. I really can't tell why. So let's hope that his current youngsters won't repeat this PCS-path.

There's a girl with beautiful skating skills, jumps are not there, but her spins and skating are marvelous for such a young age:

Thinking about quads just remebered Anna...

Polina's and Alisa's WD from the JW 2016... Polina would have won this junior world's title for sure.
Anna's injury... She could do two clean 4T in the free program and set several records with 145+ points...
Polina Kostyukovich's out from JGPF... Her quad twist and flow on the throws are sensational...

What's next?

Figure skating world is the whole and great injustice... :sad21::sad4:

Yeah, I know she's a very good jumper. I'm really looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish in the future. She definitely has the coaching advantage.

Going on a tangent, I was going through the recent V.Kudryavcev or whatever tournament, and ran into this interesting girl in 2-juniors(Which I believe is the 09-10 age group.). Now, the Youtube video is totally out of sync so I really had to look for her music and I believe I in the end did manage to find it. It was about 1 hour and 28 minutes away from where she actually skated, but I think I managed to restore it pretty well. If it's the incorrect music after all, someone else must have had the exact same braking timing in several different locations(What I used to identify the music).

Uliana Vasilyeva(Ульяна Васильева) would be the skater, late 2009 birthday. So she would be either 8 years old or 7 and very close to 8. What I was impressed by would primarily be the PCS categories and what she does with the music(Outstanding for her age and would be for someone significantly older, too), but her 2Lz actually looks really good too. Her first Lutz in the 2Lz-2Lo combo almost gives me the feeling that she already has a triple Lutz and is intentionally holding back. She finished the second rotation at the apex of her jump.

This is my manual sync:

I won't even bother to remind you about her results in that season. She was the best junior skater in that season, in the miles ahead of others.

And yeah, actually, I do:

Yes, Gulyakova is out of Italy, if Alena will win or take the second place with bigger score than Nastya. Sad for Nastya, but what can you do...

1. Sasha
2. Alena
3. Dasha
4. Sonya
5. Nastya T
6. Rika/Eunsoo

The best final!

Beautiful and elegant

I really do not like Tsurskaya's FS music. It's so boring. They should have kept her LP from last season, I thought it was extremely sophisticated and would have given most of the ladies' field a run for their money.

But her previous FP was the same crap, and I'd say the black color suits her very well. They just need to change the music and choreo.

This is very kindly from Japan to let the Russians organize their training-camp in Niigata for preparing to the Olympics. Let's wait the confirmation. I'm just in love with relationships between Japanese and Russians, it's so cute and nice!:yes:

Niigata city officially announced on November 2 that Russian Olympic team would have training camp there from January 28 to February 19, 2018. They have also the plan to have opportunities for citizens and skaters to interact :) I hope Russian team will be able to have fulfilling time in Niigata!

It ms that Daniil and Sergei don't go to minor competitions.
But Daniil went to Sochi, so I don't understand why he didn't stayed with the boys, too (and with Sergei Rozanov)

I think you are trying to read way too much into who travels with whom and turn it into some kind of conspiracy theory. They are all part of the team and I don't think it really matters as much as you think. None of them can be everywhere at once.

I don't see or think about any conspiracy.Oh,God....I thought that this is very exhausting for Daniil, since he went to China. And the boys skated the sp in the same day with the dance.I know that they are a team and divides the tasks...and need more people, since the girls artived on Sunday and it wasn't necesary to come Friday. It's about the tiredness and practice.Maybe I should be more clear and explicite.

OMG she's going all in?!? Wouldn't have thought that!
