2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

I don't think that a lot of the girls would want to compete under the Olympic Flag... I remember an interview with Aliya Mustafina where she said that it's crucial for her to compete under the Russian Flag. I know, it's a different sport, but I think a lot of girls would feel like her.

I understand. But that is better to compete under the Olympic flag than if they couldn't go. They deserve it.

I guess one page about that is enough. :dbana:

Let's focus on positive things! :)

I was wondering about Russian Junior Nationals, since we know all participants except the last one (Tarusina/Fedichkina/Sakhanovich/Mitrofanova) at Russian Senior Nationals. JGP participation at least at one stage = ticket to the Junior Nationals, right?

Then:

1. Kostornaya
2. Trusova
3. Pasnenkova
4. Tarakanova
5. Samodurova
6. Gubanova
7. Konstantinova
8. Fedichkina
9. Gulyakova
---
10. Kurakova
11. Nugumanova
12. Sinitsyna
13. Kanysheva
14. Pavlova
15. Moroz
16. ...
17. ...
18. (I hope this spot is booked by one mystery girl )

That's a shame they don't have a table with all points like this.

Actually several russian gov representatives (including Putin himself) already went out and said competing under Olympic flag is a shame / humiliation to country, which means probably not going to happen.

oh, thank you..and what will happen with those athletes who think other way? Nothing..

In Mustafina's hands was a Russian flag..

Very solid and strong GP debut by Zagi. Even with a fall on the combo she got 69 points. Beautiful jumps with transitions in and out, spins, step sequence. That's really something!

She was great. Despite the close scores of the top 7, I think her superior TES advantage in the LP will carry her to the win. After that, I have no idea how the podium will look.

Natalia Khabibulina in that list? Nice try! She competed at Kudryavtsev Cup and took the bronze medal, but the rivalry there was very weak (only Kanysheva and Rubtsova were strong competitors), and she was very slow. But she finally did clean 3-3 combo in the free program, I guess it was her first successful attempt of that.

Didn't see Guseva/Medvedeva at the last competitions. And still the "gone girl" Eva Novakhova can't leave my head. Maybe Eteri ate her? [emoji848]

Elena ahead of Alina, not what I was expecting. Don't know how Alina managed to fall on that combo. The good thing is she does not look totally defeated after the short program fall in an earlier competition. Hope her pcs will increase as the season goes.

I know, I have no idea where Eva went. Which is awful when I'm her GS fanfest mother!

This is my video. :luv17:
I researched a lot for this video. And I asked a lot of people, who of the skaters still train in Team Tutberidze. What I can say, Liza Medvedeva trains now in Volkov's group. I have no idea where Eva is and if she's still skating. The only thing that I learned from my research is that fskate.ru is not a reliable source!

Thanks so much, wonderful video! I wondered where she went :( I didn't see her name anywhere. Do you know anything about why she left?

Another well-deserved victory by cute princess Alina!:clap:
She lost about 3.5 points because of < on 3Lz, so her real score there would be ~148 points.
Also congratulations to Radio with a bronze medal! What a fighter!

Zagi's real scores (without a fall in the short program and without ur on the lutz in the free program): 74+148 = 222 points!
And she won the free program also by the best PCS. Also well-deserved. Superb transitions vs. simple fast skating 1:0! :yes2:

And well, now imagine it with a clean SP and a bit more practice and medals for higher pcs <3
Very strong contender
