She definitely should wear the silver/black dress already mentioned. My pet peeve is people's hair; in Ashley's case neither the faded dirty/yellowish blonde nor the dark red monotone "color helmet" are good choices. Maybe shiny strawberry blonde or light carrot red would be good. Without dark roots! For competitions, otherwise who cares.

I like all of Ashley’s hair colors, except maybe the darker brown that washed her out.

for me - definitely not one single colour, I'd choose combination either of:

- red to black (from top to the bottom)
- white/silvery white to red

OS idea posted on page 1 has good merit - going into more 'vampy'/dramatic, darker alley with the dress, its shade/embellishment could give another dimension to the program outlook.

I like that idea. But I'd prefer ocean blue to black ... metamorphosis from top to bottom. She'd be so gorgeous in that color. And I'd like to see her choose a completely different color than the red or the white, both of which she used before.

Metamorphosis is such a classic narrative device, she might as well make the best use of it. It is there in the music edit already, she just needs to embellish them with bolder, more striking and vibrant tones and commitment.

Might as well go all in. Turn a vintage into a classic and aim for the sky, aim to have an iconic moment in what may very well be her last season for the grand curtain call.

:agree:

icenetwork loves the red dress she wore last weekend http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2017/11/01/260305862

i still vote blue or i do really love the dramatic black/silver. that really could add another dimension to the program if she played it up with hair/makeup.

That's the first time I've ever agreed with Donovan about all his choices. He makes an excellent case for Ashley staying with the red dress. Saying, "Seriously, I don't know that there is a storyteller as strong as Wagner in all of figure skating right now, especially when you consider the attention to detail."

Gorgeous photos of Ashley, too. Unfortunately, I agree heartily with his pick of Jason's blue pants for the Weir Award. ....:slink:

Having not watched the movie and only just realising (thank you, Google) what dress Satine actually wore, and also having just watched Ashley skate anything in red for the first time ever:

1st and only choice - the 2016 white dress with the bling and the HAIR COLOUR!!
Screams glamour and elegance and maturity and I think really has a “wow” factor. The hair is more important that I realised - I remember listening to TSL complaining about her hair last year and thinking, why does hair colour matter?? - but the red hair just looked beautiful. And her blonde hair doesn’t look as dramatic IMO...kinda makes her look too plain and wholesome? And doesn’t draw enough focus to her facial expressions?
Personally, I think that (the ‘16)ensemble was a perfect one.

I don’t think it’s worth it to try and emulate the character by wearing red. The actual dress Satine wore was far too plain IMO, and blinging it up would change it so much that any obvious comparison would be gone. Plus, red is worn by so many skaters, it would just blend in and be another pretty red dress.

I think it’s a sign of Ashley’s acting ability that she doesn’t need to be literal in her costume choice.
So yeah, my vote is the white gown ☺️

While cobalt or electric blue looks amazing on Ashley I think for Moulin Rouge a dark red like a raspberry or cranberry is perfect is perfect for Satine - though I personally would prefer Ashley would drop MR and do something else. Leave it to Virtue and Moir.

Red, either light or deep red, fits the theme the best IMO. White, if she wants to bring back the Worlds 2016 vibe. Or maybe the color of a tea rose, ranging from yellow to red, that would also look lovely on Ashley. Definitely not black, it's too similar to her SP costume. And not blue, that's not creative and topic-fitting enough IMO.

One similar to the Silver and black one the character performed in or black heavily entrusted with ruby colored beading and crystals.

I know I posted this elsewhere but wanted it in the correct thread. A burgundy dress - aged like fine wine. This would reflect her maturity and status among the ladies and fit with the I'll fly away piece.

Like the one Tessa Virtue wore at Skate Canada?

Wagner discusses in interview she has not yet decided on dress color for "Moulin Rouge 3.0". What color would you like to see her use?

I would love to see an off the shoulder deep blue velvet with red accent and some bling "necklace" (like Mirai's gorgeous dress). Inspired by this look:

Second choice is the white - I think it captures the tragedy and depth of the character much better than the bright red.

what if she already plans her hair color around her dress colors? if so what color do you think she might be going for with blonde hair? blue? black? I would think something darker than red or white.

The design of the white dress is superior to her original red and this new red.
The white design shows absolute elegance, maturity and a professional yet not in anyway typical skating dress.
It elevates her presence way beyond any other skaters dresses.

The white dress design in any color would be fantastic! I would love to see that one drawn up in every color for a voting contest!
