Yuzuru made withdraw NHK trophy means he'll not come to GPF.

I consider myself a big fan of both Yuzu and Shoma, so am not particularly happy this morning... although it hasn't really sunk in yet, either. That'll only happen when the Men's SP finishes and I'm realizing he didn't show up as twelfth skater.
All I can think now is, PLEASE Shoma, stay healthy, don't you go doing anything bad, too, and PLEASE let Yuzu's injury not be bad and hopefully he can recover very quickly. We need both of these men at the Olympics, and the JSF (and me, lol) need both of them at Worlds to get those three spots for Japan 2019.

You know that I love Yuzuru almost as much as Shoma, and I'm totally devastated by his withdrawal. Thinking that Shoma also nurses a damn ankle injury, I won't dare to think what still could happen this season. The GPF will be a lot less exciting this year, and I feel especially bad for the japanese audience. If Shoma remains healthy this will be a real test for his mental strength at the GPF. I'm pretty sure that his Lombardia Score (total) will remain the best score of the season until the Olympics. Which makes him the favourite now. I hate to declare him like that, and I think that Nathan Chen is equally in the favourite position, but I think now Japan expects Shoma to bring home the GPF title, especially because it is in Nagoya. I just know that he doesn't want to win this way. It's similar to japanese Nationals last year, the narrative that Shoma only won because Yuzuru wasn't there. I'll bet you that will be the criticism any winner of the GPF can count on.

What a sad day :( I hope that Yuzuru gets well in time for the Olympics. What an awful thing to happen to any skater. You're right, if Shoma wins the GPF we will never hear the end of it that he won only because Yuzuru wasn't there. And Shoma doesn't want to win that way either! Even though he's super competitive he has said in interviews that he doesn't want to win because someone else was bad, he wants to win because he was the best. This GP season has been so f*cked up  Please let this be the last awful thing

Meanwhile, there has been a report in one Japanese twitter account that Shoma was seen in the airport, apparently on his way to the next GP event... Can't find the right link now, but I am sure someone will eventually find it.
So, it seems that he'll be in Grenoble one week before the competition, as usual.

Yes, thank you Hronop, these are the news I was waiting for. Please let his ankle be alright. I think it's incredibly hard to just jump 'triples' and taking it 'easy' for the skaters who put so many quads in their programs, because it is like a different jump and the training focuses on the quads. So I hope that Shoma, if he is healthy, continues with the layout he had in Canada, and perhaps adds the Salchow at GPF (if he reaches it) and doesn't think too much about the triple after the toeloop in the SP either. I'd rather have him jump a double there, if he feels better that way.

Glad to hear the prince is on his way. Same plan as Canada -- they have to be there Wednesday, and he leaves Friday. Sounds good! 9 hour time difference for Canada, 8 hour for France. Knowing him, he'll still be tired! :luv17: Wishing him all the best. I'm sure the total silence routine will apply now. Hope his condition is good.

Wondering who all is planning on being there. Hronop, I remember you were considering going. Did you decide against it?

Which makes me miss some older members who I sometimes see in the thumb ups section, or online. We miss you lurker Shoma Fans! Come back and let's get cozy again :ghug:

I am not going, just can't...
A few days ago, I bought some tickets for the Milan WC in March though -- Men SP and FP are on my list. :yahoo: I do hope Shoma will be there with his Turandot -- after all, Milan is probably the best place for a good old Turandot performance. :points:

Felt like it's been ages since we last saw him, glad to know the wait is almost over! Since the GPF is in Japan, he will no doubt get the most media attention now from hometown media. Wondering if they are scrambling to switch from playing up the rivalry between Yuzuru and Shoma to something like" crowning of the new king" ? Saw a tweet yesterday saying that who ever wins will be the first time winner of GPF now the " uncles" are most certainly out. I will be cheering Shoma on!

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself
My name is Agnes, from Indonesia

I first discover ice skating as a child, watching a NGC program. And I'm so impressed at how the can move so easily, on top of a 5-mm blade, on top of the ice! But then things happened, and I lost"contact" with ice skating until YoI came up. And then came the YoI x WTT collab, and I think "this is a good time to re-follow what I left." The only skater I know there were Yuzu (when I was younger, I watched his Parrisienne Walkways program @ Olympics. And that's what introduced me to figure skating, specifically), but I ended up gaining another fave on my list (as for now, Yuzu and Shoma are like, my dear beloved. Nathan, Boyang, and Javi is the honorable beloved)

The first program of Shoma that I watched (and utterly fell in love with) is This Town. Still my favorite. I cried (and still cry) whenever I watched it.

I've been following this forum for awhile, a few months now, and decided to finally join after seeing how warm and open is everyone to the new members

Please take a good care of me

Finally Shoma news :hap93: That jump looked good! :)

Welcome Agnes! Fellow This Town lover right here. :clapper:

Oh yes, This Town is so good. Welcome to the new faces, JadeFrost and Belkro! Let's all cheer for him in french this week "Allez, Allez, Allez!" :cheer:

To beat Javier at a Grand Prix would be fantastic! Remember Rostelecom last year? Let's hope for a rematch and a Shoma win!

Hello everyone! I've been away from the forum for some time now... I love coming back and see there's always the same good atmosphere around here.
I will be at Internationaux de France next Friday, I'll try to write some report... If some of you are coming, feel free to PM me! Go Shomita! :gclap:

Woah so sneaky! We literally heard nothing of him and suddenly he's already in France...

Welcome to the Prince's fan fest Jade Forest. And welcome back Pika. Hope you are well! Glad to hear you are still planning on going to see Shomita at I de F. Give an extra loud cheer from all of us at the fan fest! He looked great in that Facebook clip. I would love to see him win in the Javi rematch. Vamos Shomita!

Welcome Agnes!! Hurray for another Shoma fan joining this forum!:hap10::hap10: This Town is absolutely a love piece, so much emotion and romantic at the same time. I don't usually watch EX programs and there is not much EX programs that I will go back and watch again (Except Mao's for she is the Queen of EX), but Shoma is another exception. His EXs touch your heart and just make you smile while watching it. Thank you and terima kasih for joining and don't forget to post more! We are all Team Prince Shomachka!! :dance3::dance3:

So apparently ticket prices to the GPF in Nagoya are dropping due to recent events... Does anyone know how to buy tickets to the event? Is it still lottery if that's the case?
