How so? I'm not an ice expert so how does that work?

Tracy did not elaborate. As a former skater, I bet it is too soft and you look slow if you are used to gliding on top and not using your knees.

This is turning out to be one of those competitions, very disappointing start.

I just really hope that the ladies use all the back luck available, and everything else will be fine

While Mai skated, my kitten brought this enormous butterfly to my bed and I was too busy worrying about the kitten eating it to watch the program... I did manage to snap a good picture, though.

I love coach’s big nod when Mai hit the board. Her first combo spin was affected( slow and labored) but she came back strong and finished the program with fire! Mai does not have the On your face expressiveness, but her skating tells it all! I think her SS and musicality only challenges Caro. Sheer respect to her skating skill!!

It's a pretty dress. Mai is lovely. But she looked like she needed extra time with her coach in the middle of the program when she nearly skated into the boards.

Mai Mihara

Tech: Both the 2A and 3F were finely executed, but the opening 3F+3T<< combo where she landed forward is going to kill the technical score. The footwork and spins felt a bit more careful and a little wobbly than I've seen in the past.

Pres: Mihara is still growing as an artist. She's got some spots where she's emphasizing that tango right on time with the music, but the interpretation of the tango could be stronger and she could emphasize more sections of the music. Luckily for Mihara, she's a more powerful free skater.
